The history of people4business

people4business limited started as an online contracting website. Our intention when we launched in 2006 was to create an easy-to-use website where finding and using freelancers, contractors and consultants would be much easier.

Our core principles would be Opennness and Price Transparency and we would develop great online tools to deliver our vision.

We soon realised that what our clients – serious professional organisations in the UK and beyond – really wanted was the best candidates, with the best skills for the job, who are competent professionals in their field. This means talking – to both clients and candidates – to really get to know what they want.

We still offer all the same back-end functionality we envisaged back then – including electronic timesheets, contracts, invoicing and payments – but we have evolved into a full-service recruitment agency that clients of any size can use in order to recruit the ideal contractor or permanent member of staff.

Now businesses of all sizes – we have multinational organisations that regularly use our services – can recruit their ideal candidate wherever they are located, whatever their skill requirements – for both contract and permanent roles. All of our clients have their own fully-trained account manager with specialist knowledge covering their industry sector.

All this we achieve at a significant reduction on typical high-street agency margins, while never compromising on the quality of service we offer and the candidates we put forward.

Contract recruitment

Our database of contractors now exceeds 65,000 located throughout the UK and beyond – all of whom are eligible to work in the UK – and with in excess of 8,000 skills.

Permanent recruitment

When sourcing permanent candidates for our clients, we also utilise databases of more than 6,000,000 CVs in order to find the right person to match our clients' requirements. But above all, we will have talked with every candidate we pass on to make sure that they are as good a match as possible for your requirements.
