Finding your Seller
You can browse our skills categories to choose Sellers you like the look of, read their CVs, and then shortlist them.
You can also set up your assignment, then contact us and we will put it on our free job board, to invite Sellers to apply themselves.
If you prefer to do your recruitment in the traditional way, we are happy to look for Sellers for you. We can select Sellers for your shortlist, and will contact them to make sure that they are available for work.
We have launched a redesign of the people4business home and search pages, to make the site more user-friendly. The search facility has been improved to make it even easier for Buyers to find Sellers. We’ll be releasing this redesign on the other sites within the next two weeks.
This month we have launched our first white-label version of people4business – where we provide the freelance services marketplace for other websites. Our first white-label partner is a magazine and website specialising in public sector recruitment – «www.opportunities.co.uk» – and you can see the white-label site by clicking on the ‘temp & freelance’ tab.
We are now in discussion with a number of other organisations and companies interested in adding a white-label version of people4business to their websites.
Our testimonials
“people4business has allowed us to find people with skills that we couldn’t access elsewhere. So it has been a real help to us.” — Kit Sadgrove, The Learning Institute «www.inst.org»
You can see more client testimonials, from both Buyers and Sellers.
We’re now directing Buyers of Web 2.0 skills or services to use «www.people4web2.com»
We attended, and sponsored, a Facebook Developers Garage event, to further promote people4web2; and have received coverage in the Evening Standard.
We attended the ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) conference and exhibition, where we received a very positive response.

4. What makes a good contract?
When you get a contract
Don’t forget that when you get a contract, you will need to be paid either through an umbrella company or a limited company.
Umbrella companies
We’ve entered into an arrangement with «CXC» to offer low-cost umbrella services to Sellers, via people4payments.
It costs £20 to set up your account and to process the first payment. Subsequent payments are £10. people4payments also deducts PAYE and NI, so you need to take this into account when setting your hourly rate. Other umbrella companies offer similar services.

What makes a good contract?
We’re writing an article on what Buyers can do to make the most of their freelancers or contractors.
You have probably experienced contracts where your skills have been used to best advantage… and those where they haven’t.
We would love to hear from you about what makes for a good contract - and a bad one!
Please get in touch to tell us what you think!

We’re looking for people with OpenID skills, so please update your skills list if you do. You’ll find it under ‘Web Development/Prog’ in the IT & Internet skills area.
