We’re pleased to introduce two new sales team members: Natalie Twiselton, Account Support and Laura Williams, Account Executive. Natalie is responsible for finding potential Sellers for unfilled roles, while Laura is looking after newly registered Buyers. Both of them are contributing some great, fresh ideas to their roles.

As well as the Professional Contractors Group white-label site we mentioned above, we are developing other white-label opportunities, to expand the pool of skilled Sellers for your assignments.

You’ll see the discount icon against Sellers offering a charity discount . Over 73% of newly registered Sellers are offering a charity discount, with discounts ranging from 5–85%, and an average saving for charities of around 14%.

Professional contractors group

We are pleased to announce our partnership with the «Professional Contractors Group» (PCG).

The PCG is the not-for-profit trade association made up of freelancers, governed by freelancers, for the protection and promotion of freelance contracting and consulting.

Any Sellers registering as PCG members will gain from a 15% discount on normal PCG subscription rates.

Current PCG members can benefit from the people4business marketplace, through our special site for PCG members.

PCG membership will help you run your business in full compliance with the law, help you avoid mistakes which could lead you to pay unnecessary levels of tax, and save you time and money in the process.

We’ve done our latest stats and found out that subscribers are a whopping 16 times more likely to get a contract!

Umbrella companies

We’ve entered into an arrangement with «CXC» to offer low-cost umbrella services to Sellers, via people4payments.

It costs £20 to set up your account and to process the first payment. Subsequent payments are £10. people4payments also deducts PAYE and NI, so you need to take this into account when setting your hourly rate. Other umbrella companies offer similar services.

We have Buyers urgently looking for OpenID skills, so if you do, please update your skills list NOW! You’ll find OpenID under ‘Web Development/Prog’ in the IT & Internet skills area.

Around 10% of our Buyers are now charities, so – if you haven’t yet selected a charity discount – it is worth remembering that your profile has extra prominence for charity Buyers with the discount icon next to it.
