buyers and sellersJune has been another busy and successful month:
• we’re seeing the benefit of the high level of press and public interest in people4charity.com, with increased traffic and charity registrations;
• the number of contracts has doubled since May; and
• we’ve introduced new contact-management systems, to ensure that we offer a high quality service to our Buyers.

There are now over 7,000 registered Sellers; and 950 Buyers.

In last month’s newsletter, we announced the launch of «www.people4charity.com», the people4business sister site, targeted at the charitable and not-for-profit sector.

Since we launched people4charity, over 1,300 Sellers have specified charity discounts of between 5–85%, with an average saving for charities of 15%.

We attended «The Gathering 2007», Scotland’s voluntary sector fair, where we launched people4charity, and introduced ourselves to the Scottish charitable sector. We had a fantastic response, with a great deal of interest from charities, and a significant number of new registrations on people4charity as a result.

Improved Seller information: All Seller listings now include a [View CV] field, which is displayed ONLY if a Seller has input their CV details.

We have introduced this change to improve our Buyer experience, as Buyers have told us that they prefer to set up contracts with Sellers who have full CV information. This change will also allow Seller CV information to be indexed by Google and other search engines, so it will drive increased Seller and Buyer traffic to both sites.

New contact management: We’ve implemented a new contact management system, to ensure that we follow up all enquiries swiftly, and continue to offer our Buyers a high quality customer service.

Subscription: With Seller numbers at 7,000, the advantage, to subscribers, of appearing at the top of Buyer searches, grows ever greater. You can also use up to 400 characters for your description – find out more

Meet the team

We’d like to introduce Emma Wood, our Charities Co-ordinator. Emma comes to us with a strong background in account and project management. Working previously as a freelance project manager, she spent some time with a major national charity, working with them on their website development.

When Emma registered as a Seller on people4business, she quickly spotted that the charity sector, in particular, would really benefit from high quality professional services at a competitive price. She has since played a crucial role in developing our relationships with charities and the not-for-profit sector, and in the establishment of our sister site, people4charity.com

Jackie Kent has joined our Buyer Support team. She has worked for many years in customer service, primarily in holiday companies both in the UK and overseas, including four years at British Airways in customer relations. Before joining people4business, Jackie has spent the last seven years in “a war zone commonly referred to as ‘home’, requiring the negotiating skills of a UN peacekeeper!”
