Since November 2003 have studied investment opportunities in Ireland, The Netherlands, UK, Germany, Turkey, Sardinia, Canada and the USA on behalf of a Private Venture Capital company based in New York and specialising in leading edge technology investments, mainly in the telecommunications space. Advised on suitability of technology, competitive environment, market analysis, built business and financial models and have advised on radio spectrum, regulatory, market and operational issues.
November 2003 – Acted as an Expert Witness for a firm of Belfast solicitors acting for the defendant in a Crown Court case.
January 2002 – Further work with a major French Electrical Engineering company advising on possible joint venture opportunities.
October 2001- advised a major European incumbent on the potential of starting a Directory Enquiries business in competition with BT.
July 2001 - advised a major French Electrical Engineering company on their entry strategy to the Telecommunications sector and the potential opportunity of Local Loop Unbundling.
March 2001 - advised a major European incumbent on its Broadband Access strategic plans.
January 2001 - completed a series of projects establishing a practical business case and implementation plan for a new Broadband Access company in the UK on behalf of a major European company with a potential Capex of £2.8bn over 10 years.

Reengineered the Access Network processes supported by Gemini Consulting. Produced business case (£129M capital expenditure) for a radical change to management of the Access Network, which was accepted by the UK Investment Committee

Directly responsible to the Director Operations for the BT Core Network for North East (£52M budget and 1810 staff). Planned and executed the modernisation programme. Chaired national process improvement group on Provision of Service. Gained ISO 9000 registration for BT Worldwide Networks (North East)

Direct Report to the District General Manager. Managed the Planning, Installation and Maintenance of BT's Core Network f or the Bradford, Leeds, York and surrounding areas (£65M budget and 2400 staff).
