Worked for this Microsoft Certified Gold Partner on an initial 5 month contract, I was employed for my C# / TSQL development expertise to aid in the development for the Learning Platform Version 1 software release.

o Re-factored existing components to include full unit testing with Nunit and Ncover. Plus Refactored
o Added features to the “SIMS Data Extractor” component to shape and validate XML data.
o Added Stored Procedures to utilise “OpenXML” to perform batch updating within the “UPMS” system.

Analyst Programmer worked in the UK IS Applications department primarily working for the mid-market division based in Winnersh (Reading). The department adhered to Extreme Programming (XP) methodology incorporated around ITIL service management processes.

o Gathering requirements to consolidate many existing systems into and an existing centralised system. This centralised system (“in-touch”) is developed as a multi-tier distributed application developed in C# using mainly XML Web services, Message Queues, ASP.NET and Windows forms. I lead the analysis and design for implementing the workflow and SLA program logic that is being implemented within “in-touch” application.

o Developed “Proof of Concept” Web part controls for MS Share-point 2003

My role at Unified was Systems Developer / Integrator working in a development team of seven. My role was purely development using Microsoft technologies.

o Jointly developed a production system for a Pharmaceutical company that provides information globally via a product called “Pharma-Projects”. This system allows users to schedule and customise production profiles. A windows service was developed on a server that hosted .NET Remoting objects. My involvement in this project was that I developed the business object and presentation layer frameworks and developed all the .NET Remoting objects and Remote configuration.

o Redeveloped an e-commerce web site for the British Museum (http://www.britishmuseum.co.uk). I redeveloped the main site with a view to be W3C/WAI compliant with a fresh design.

During my employment at Unified I have supported and maintained many web sites that were previously poorly managed, documented and developed which resulted in them being problematic. During the support and maintenance of these sites, I implemented change management, source control and issue tracking.

I was originally employed as a Senior Analyst Programmer, during my employment I gained more responsibilities, this being that I was jointly responsible for the Software Development department as well as a direct line manager to another developer within the department. In my management role, I was responsible for recruitment, managing projects and suggesting and implementing ways to improve the department. This was a client facing role; I often travelled to see prospective and existing clients either to provide consultancy, user training or to gather and analyse the clients software requirements, this then led to providing development estimates / proposals, reports and specifications.

Some of the projects that I developed were:

o Developed a web based dealership evaluation application for Suzuki GB. The consultants have the system running standalone on their laptops using IIS and MSDE 2000. The data is synchronised via VPN using SQL Replication (Merge) to the central SQL server.

o Jointly developed a web based freight forwarding system for a shipping company. This system is used globally and viewed in 4 different languages.

o Jointly developed a web based timesheet entry and payroll system for a finance company. The finance company solely deals with payroll for recruitment agencies. This system currently has a user base of 400+ recruitment agencies across the UK.

o Developed a Sales Reporting application for Nikon Optical that imported data daily from a legacy main frame application. This application is being used to produce complex reports for managers and board members in the UK, France and Japan.

I was employed as a Senior Applications Developer and was the lead developer for all software projects. For the last 6 months of my employment, I managed the IT department.

o Developed an enterprise-wide web/windows based CRM system based on a data warehouse. The windows element of the system is used to run the entire call centre operation and provide automated reports for all departments. The web based element of the system is a secure web based lead tracking system which allows clients to access sales leads and reports. During the project life cycle I was either solely responsible or directing involved in gathering the user requirements, project management, planning, development, training and support.

o Developed a call centre application that was used by 30 concurrent users who were marketing to prospective clients on behalf on Microsoft Great Plains.
