CV

Having all of the latest technologies from Microsoft & Macromedia and continually upgrading, this allows usage and development with technologies unavailable to the IT market.

During my own time, I take on various projects from users all around the globe. This would range from answering a question to providing a solid solution / application using Cold Fusion, VB, C, SQL, COBOL, Java, Database programming & Access.

Having SQL Server 7 and 2000 has proved to be of enormous benefit, as many commercial applications use an SQL database. This allows the development of commercial applications at home, and I communicate with developers, when they are in need of assistance, and businesses worldwide developing solutions on a global scale. This method allows me to provide I.T. solutions worldwide to clients in the evenings and at weekends.

Online I provide two services. The first service is helping other developers to complete projects. This can range from answering queries, providing code, developing controls (.OCX, .DLL) to developing a complete application.

The second service I provide is for the commercial sector. The services / solutions I provide have to run on all Window platforms or a particular platform. I develop applications from scratch and deliver to client. Within a tight timeframe, the application / solution are completed. Upon completion and approval, a fee is charged.

The projects I have worked on include:
1) Control (OCX) for sending faxes.
2) User Interfaces
3) Monitor the Hours worked and capital earned.
4) Providing solutions and answering questions for other developers and users in I.T.

I am currently working on projects of my own. The projects will communicate with the internet to obtain the latest information. These projects will manage the running of a Sports Clubs, Employee / Project management and E-commerce programming.

Lately, I have being freelancing and am in the process of setting up business for myself. Recently, I have been involved in the development of software designed for the automotive industry using Visual Basic 6, ADO, SQL Server 7 and ACCESS 2000, Windows 2000 Professional & Server. Here I was involved in the design, programming, testing and release of the product. The application would allow garages to take full control over their stock, ‘Vehicles’, and advertise this on the internet.

Employment History

(Sep 2005 & ongoing)

Senior Web Developer

Since moving on from Tesco Diets, I have been taking on small contracts.

Coldfusion Consultant / Developer (LONDON) Coldfusion MX
In London, I was responsible for all aspects of the Web Applications. The applications developed are both Content Management Systems, (CMS), and fully controlled by the clients.

Slough Trading Estate
The site was designed to cater for both commercial and residential property seeker. This allows the user to go through the website browsing all of the options displayed on the screen. The system is written in such a way that the layout of the screen and the information accessible depends totally upon the users’ login credentials.

The Property Search uses ASP to query the database, while Estate Life uses the Cold fusion CMS by passing parameters in the address bar.

An Administration interface was also developed to allow the user to publish content on the website. Within this section of the website, the user can choose to switch on or off the display of certain options. This prevents the options from being shown on the main website, until enabled again. The user has the choice to add new content, edit existing content, or remove the content completely. Once the content is added to the system the user then has to publish it to make it live, visible to users, on the main web server.

Deloitte
The site was designed to display the content being posted on to the website. When the user logs in, the first thing seen by the user is a list of the most recent reports, on goings and activities. Some of the options bring the user to a different website, whereby the outlay is completely different. The sidebar menu display is determined by the users’ login credentials. This allows the user to easily navigate through the website. Within the website, the user can also change to a different database, as the CMS allows for multiple client databases to be used.

The CMS site is completely database driven. Using Cold fusion as the primary language, the pages are retrieved by using the parameters passed in the address bar.
Again, as before, the website configures itself and its display based on the user login credentials.

An Administration interface was also developed to allow the user to publish content on the website. Within this section of the website, the user submits the content to a partner. Forwards on to the publisher and is set live on the server.

This method is more intense as after the content is submitted, it is reviewed by a partner, whereby all content is checked and double-checked, before forwarding this on to the publisher. The publisher then has the option of adding this new option to the live server.

Cold fusion Developer
At present, I am designing a new security feature to the website. The website is written in Coldfusion, and Java, with a backend database of SQL and Access. This will prevent users from accessing incorrect areas of the database, and only display what the user is authorized to view.

Web Consultant
As a Web Consultant, I contacted my client, and advised them of the best way forward should they wish to use Cold fusion. This included hardware and software costs, Website layout, backend database, labour, financing options, and time to delivery.

SQL Developer
As an SQL Developer, I had to reprogram the database, using SQL stored procedures and functions. This project had to be completed within a short timeframe, before the end of the month, as the routine and procedures produce the company Trial Balance and Audit report.

(Apr 2006 to Jun 2006)

Senior Web Developer

Web Developer Contract (London) – Coldfusion Developer (3 Months). Coldfusion MX
At present, I am on contract, developing multiple CMS systems for various clients in London. This includes developing in-house software too. The technologies being used are Cold fusion MX 7, Cold fusion Report Builder, JavaScript, MySql, Flash 8, Navicat & MS Office, MS Access Application Development.

The CMS is a content management system for Car Events which take place at different venues throughout the UK, by various dealers, managing the mailing data, attendance, test drives, post-event data and follow-ups.

Since undertaking this contract, I have introduced new methods of business, informed the company of new and more efficient ways of conducting business and I have also trained all developers on how to use the new database system. By showing the developers the intricacies of the application, I showed all developers what to be wary of when using the wizards within the application.

I have had a significant impact on the company, with the introduction of this new technology. This has created a faster turnaround of work, and allows more projects to be taken on. During my time with the company, the company has taken on a substantial amount of work.

I have been called upon many times within in the company to assist in projects outside of my contract, but which do fall into my area of expertise. The IT manager directs all SQL development to myself. Regularly, I am called upon by the IT manager and other members of the development team, in times of difficulty, to provide input on how to solve a development & technical problems a member of the team has.

I am responsible for the company’s main client, and the development/maintenance of the website. The website involves a lot of processing resources.

On a daily basis, 10 sets of data would be imported into the database, through the newly developed web application, and mailing data generated. There is also a manual side to this before importing the data. The data is manually edited, and then data verified. The same applies to Post-event data, except the data being imported is from an external source, and has to be manually matched up and put in sync with our database before importing.
