Responsible for channel services strategy and business with a team of 45 staff focused on growing both product and particularly services business through all of Sun’s partners.

Developed a new volume services business through channel and direct customers involving building a new team of 50 staff, developing sales strategy and scaling existing salesdesk infrastructure. Result was a £25M delivering above average margins to the group.

Fleet

Global Business sponsor and lead for development and subsequent rollout of a leading edge services automation infrastructure into Sun’s services business. Key targets were to reduce cost and increase revenue through speed of quoting. UK implementation supported $30m business annually and resulting in cost savings of $2M.

Role model technical leader responsible for spearheading the change project to create a single integrated technical community in Sun UK from three separate organisational divisions involving 500 staff. Established communities of practice in the business whose focus was to establish and maintain best practice and reuse material, and provide virtual teams for practitioners.

Global design authority for a significant and innovative knowledge management development project. Responsible for requirements and specification, working with external suppliers and evaluating COTS options. The subsequent rollout involved 25 countries and 5000 practitioners and gave a project ROI within 18 months.

Lead architect for a highly resilient £6M ERP IT infrastructure for a leading Aerospace manufacturer to support 7000 users. Responsibilities included ensuring that Sun was capable of achieving the very tight performance and availability guarantees placed upon the solution.

Major UK manufacturer was incurring significant cost and data risk through lack of a consolidated data management strategy. Architected and implemented an enterprise wide backup/restore solution. This cost savings in excess of 250K GBP per annum to the client.

Large utility was at risk with poor disaster recovery strategy for their mission critical real time monitoring systems. Provided lead consultancy to make recommendations resulting in £1M of follow on business for Sun.

Leading financial institution was seeking real-time data replication across London. Designed and implemented an innovative disaster recovery solution based upon remote mirroring technology enabling them to tolerate a complete building disaster with no loss of financial data.

Architected a complete overhaul of a major UK manufacturing business engineering infrastructure which was widely covered by the press and formed the basis for Sun's own advertising at the time. Solution involved deployment of dataless desktop devices which significantly reduced ongoing management costs by 40%. This project was Sun largest ever deal in the UK.
