2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer

Contracting for IBM through Manpower (field Service Group). The job entails working at IBM’s client sites (eg Pfizer, Diageo plc, Zurich, Carlsberg), on differing projects including Network and desktop rullouts, migration. The Job also includes support and administration of Network systems (Servers and reuters), desktops/laptop using reporting software such as Remedy and Manage Now (On differing Machines and OS:- Win 95,98, 2000, NT,Win Server 2K3, Win Office and various OEM in-house software) using Active Directory and other tools. We also configure and support Blackberrys in conjunction with the BES Server team and the Service provider. Currently working in the Server support group looking after problems with backups (using netbackup, backup exec or Arcserve) for about 2000 Server around the world. We connect to Servers (through VNC, Dameware or Terminal Server) to checkup, run and maintain either diff or full backups.
