Working within the commercial section of Siemens Power Generation Ltd., for new installations. Project managing the build of large gas turbine generators /compressors and CHP units, circa 13 MW capability and values of contracts to £42M. Ensuring that all components to enable delivery are per contract agreement. Liaison with engineers and planner to ensure that any technical and planning problems are resolved. Attending meetings with customers at contract start-up , interim and final test, followed by installation.

Working within a high paced Technology Business Management Department. Providing planning technical expertise for multiple programmes. Recording high-level plans at start-up of major project in conjunction with programme managers, e.g. Music Station, a music on your mobile application, which involved working within collaboration zone style start-up to speed up transfer of ideas and concept to fast track the programme. Internet on your mobile was another high profile programme and projects requiring signing non-disclosure agreement prior to commencement of the projects as they involved large staff changes and movement.
Resourcing of permanent staff to replace contract staff, at Programme and Project Manager Levels. Completing full process from CV collation to on boarding of individuals.
Setting up and recording KPI systems that were project and planning related quality checks on the main data base of all the projects within all project and programmes. The results of which were collated and formed part of the Departments monthly report.
Creation of Excel template and data extraction tools for use within the department.
Setting up policing timesheet completion system to improve capex ratios with monthly report of non-compliance by individuals.

Working with multi-disciplined teams of engineers and in house customer focused projects engineers planning refurbishment programs. Organizing project planning section to provide a much improved level of service. Reduction of databases which held the same information in differing formats, Excel, Word and consolidating the projects plans in to MSProject with the emphasis moving from what had happened to when is it planned to happen. Presenting planned engineering activity in meetings to Customer Projects department in real time utilizing laptop computer with projector. Producing forward capacity planning utilizing ‘MSProject Analyze’ facility which is then placed in Pivot table for in-depth analysis, down to section level. The capacity planning also took in the sales forecast information. Utilizing Excel and filtering techniques to extract KPI data from the MSProject information.

Responsibility for management of projects to resource supplies of furniture from the Far East followed by complete plant and site disposal. Producing MSProject plans to concurrently close two large factories which involved working with the group directors at the early stages to plan personnel retention and redundancy dates, media announcement timings all of which were commercially confidential. Stocks build scheduling, closure of manufacturing sections, planning cleanup operations and removal of archive data, cessation of utility supplies. Working with JDE (MRP) system software which had not been tailored to suit the business / manufacturing profile, the site was continuing manufacturing to build sufficient stock to satisfy customer orders and build a buffer stock leading up to full outsourcing. This required formulating complex Excel spreadsheets to extract the necessary data and present this in an easily understood format for the manufacturing section of the business. Tracking of progress was a combination of Excel spread sheets showing stock levels, actual sales, despatches, manufacturing output, numerically and graphically with MSProject to track actual progress. In the latter stages of the project my involvement also included arranging for removal of archives and for the destruction of confidential information. Liaising with auction staff before, on the auction day and during the machine and equipment removals. Assisting with decommissioning of the computer systems and network routers and UPS systems

Resolving design, mechanical and electrical issues with new programmes to improve reliability and reduce costs. Supporting manufacturing plants to resolve production problems. Reviewing and progressing cost reduction opportunities raised by production sites located around the World. Initiating test procedures for cost reduction components fitted to test machines and reviewing results. Arranging for documentation packages to enable cost cutting changes to be cut in to production.

Reporting to Chairman of Denipro AG in Switzerland.
Controlling team of 35 mechanical, electrical and software engineers installing overhead conveyor systems used in the packaging of biscuits. Liaison with client on the project progress and technical discussions. Responsible for the day to day financial requirements on the site, hire of labour and ordering of components/ services. Resolving complex engineering and design problems on site to expedite the completion of the project.

Design consultancy and drawing bureau working with a broad base of clients, aerospace (SC Clearance), automobile, and railway sectors through to industrial printing, bathroom fittings and fire safety systems. Involving project management, using Primavera P3, of mechanical and electronic design.
Heading the product design department controlling a team of project personnel, designers, utilizing 3D CAD, and senior electronic engineers. Responsibility for the profit and loss of the group, preparing quotations, also visiting clients to discuss new and existing projects.
Conducting project reviews and planning the use of resources available within the department. Interviewing and hiring of contract staff to complete specific projects.

Reporting to Quality Director.

Designing and project managing a beverage dispensing system for a unique drinks machine aimed at the USA market which can provide hot, cold and carbonated drinks, including alcoholic drinks.
Identifying and vetting plastic moulding companies that could provide technical moulding for the dispense portion control valve and blow moulded/ bag-in-box containers manufacturers to which the portion control valve assembles. Liaison with mould tooling manufacturing companies in conjunction with the subcontract moulding companies.
Part of my remit was the identification of beverage syrup components supply companies and companies to complete the assembly, filling, labelling of the two types of containers.
Anticipated volumes of the dispense system in the first year are 1 million, rising by year three to 15 million. Multi-cavity tooling identified as being necessary to supply the first 18 month volumes and to reduce the component cost.
Heading reliability team to resolve new product production problems, using Pareto analysis of failures to direct resources for fast tracking solutions through to elimination of failures. Set up fault diagnostic system, with fault coding to record beta site machine installation failures on MS Access database for analysis.
Technical liaison as part of a team sourcing components from China and the Far East.

Reporting to the Vice President of the parent company located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Control of Hardware Development Department ensuring resources were controlled efficiently using Microsoft Project to plan and produce costing information.
Provided specifications, including capital costs and time scales, of new products for review by the Product team and Executive Management authorisation.
Setting and reviewing budgets for new products and department, totalling £1 million.
The Department also supported Production and Customer service Departments on a day to day basis. Production test equipment also manufactured within the Department.
Liaison with the Quality Manager to ensure that all new and alternative components, mechanical and electronic, were correctly specified and that production problems were resolved in a timely manner.

Responsible for the day to day efficient running of a R&D/Product Support Department in a dynamic, fast moving, TQM company. Using resources to the best effect and ensuring project time scales and costs were met. Budgetary control of department and projects. Resolved technical problems with a "hands on" approach as required. Set and implemented standards used as the basis for QA procedures incorporated into the company ISO9001 procedures manual. Arranged staff training on company products.
