EricssonContract work creating Perl scripts to integrate databases into a local Intranet. The databases are located throughout the UK and Sweden, they are Oracle and DB2 databases. The objective was to integrate complex financial data into a simple Web-based solution using Perl, Javascript and HTML. Required communicating with the finance department and specifying their system requirement and analysing their current work process. Once specified and the various databases located a perl script was created that captured data from several remote databases and then created html reports that the user could then drill down to find out the required data. The system was then used throughout Europe and the USA to retrieve financial information on the UK operation.

IntergraphPerl5, Iplotorg, Asp, Javascript, Jscript, Vbscript, Access, IIS4 NT4
One2one Document management system. Integrating Intergraphs Digital Print Room into a web based document management system. Perl5 Asp Jscript VBscript Access.
The system used two web servers, one internal and the other external. The internal machine holds the 40,000 drawings database and publishes the CAD drawings via Intergraph's Digital Print Room software. This creates a compressed version of the AutoCAD drawing which can then be viewed and printed by the engineer via the web. There is a complete document control using a web based front end linked via odbc to several schemas. At relevant times all the changes made to the internal system with the published CAD drawings are ftp'd across to the external system using AT on the NT4 box to update the external database and access rights. The NT access rights are used to mange the user access rights along with a control database for the level of use for each user.
The main core of the program controlling all the publishing and ftp management was written in perl5. This was integrated into asp pages with jscript and vbscript.
