CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé

I have been fortunate enough to have accumulated over the preceding years a broad base of experience in the IT and project management arenas, although I have formal qualifications in electrical and electronic based skills I very early on transferred that knowledge into the IT sector.

My direction has always been towards the management side of the work place and have had a number of posts that have provided me with the opportunity to learn and hone my skills both through practical application and mentoring from line managers.

I have discovered over my experience to date that I have a particular leaning towards solving problems in a structured way, I enjoy the challenge of building something either from a blank sheet or from an existing installation that may not be performing ideally.

My ideal way of working is to be given a problem and told to go away and develop a solution, this can be either as a contract or as part of a permanent job role. As an example of that, whilst working for a printers near Cardiff the Board of Directors determined that in order to successfully tender for government and local authority work it was essential to aquire certain ISO accreditations, although I was employed to manage their IT infrastructure I offered to run this project, two years later, at the first attempt, the company achieved accreditation in the three main standards, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001, the first printing business in Wales to achieve all three accreditations in one project. I ran this project from it's inception, throughtout its implementation and finally to its completion, the project also came in on time, and on budget. I regard this achievement as one of the hardest jobs I have ever had to complete but at the same time the one that gave me the greatest amount of satisfaction.
