• On site management of each roadshow, facilitating Q&A sessions
• Management account reporting function including gross profit reporting and monitoring profit margins

The Ethnic Media Group also organises and hosts a number of prestigious awards events each year recognising achievers in the various sections of the minority ethnic communities.

Being the sole Conference/Events/Exhibitions Manager at the Ethnic Media Group my role encompassed the Marketing, PR, Advertising, Sales, Logistics’ and Event Management of all events, conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions. My responsibilities included the following:

Events Manager
Logistics
• Creating all event programmes/Coordinating Road Shows/Conferences/Gala Dinners/ Exhibitions - organising printing and sending out of presentations as well as creating and updating attendee lists
• Identifying and securing leading industry speakers for conferences and workshops
• Dealing with all event enquiries, quotations, bookings
• Dealing with counter parties from clients to insurers, from agencies to lighting specialists
• Management account reporting function including gross profit reporting and monitoring profit margins
• Data management via Excel & Access application
• Full operational and logistical responsibility for event preparation; running of each event from the set-up of the venue to clear up, breakdown and post-event reporting
• Management of the P&L Account; ensuring all expenditure is accounted for and produce post event reports which include staff hours, cash report, beverage stock

At IQPC my role encompassed all aspects of customer and speaker care and also ensure the event logistics ran smoothly on the day. My responsibilities included the following:

• liasing with the conference producers to establish the event’s profile
• handling customer enquiries /registering delegates on to IQPC's conferences
• providing efficient administrative preparation prior to events
• onsite set up at conferences/ considering health and safety at all times
• achieving all budgetary targets and requirements that I had set for events
• ensuring that the revenue for delegate's attendance fees have been received
• arranging the conference venue set-up/selecting the appropriate lunch menu
• ensuring event financial records are accurate and up to date
• organising suitable conference venues, whether it be in the UK or overseas appropriate conference venues
• informing caterers of lunch numbers or any special requirements
• promoting events as best as possible/issuing free press passes for events
• all speaker requirements are met at the events including AV requirements, travel and accommodation and that all their materials are submitted on time to be inserted within the conference workbook
• ensuring all speaker biographies and presentations are on CD ROM in time for the event
• ensuring that the correct number of workbooks are printed and are at the conference venue on time
• converting speaker materials to PDF format and are placed on the event upload site allowing paying delegates who were not able to attend the event the opportunity to view the presentations that where given on the day of the event
