I specialise in managing complex, large-scale projects and programmes, and providing training and guidance on organisational change, mainly in the HR and IT domains. He is the co-developer and co-author of the Positively Diverse methodology and Field Book, which has been adopted as the standard approach for project and change management in equality and diversity in the NHS.

Brian began his career with the Ministry of Defence, working in information technology, knowledge and project management. After periods in the broadcasting and utilities industries he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers where he lead in providing project and programme management and strategic and operational support to central government and the health and social care sectors.

During his career Brian has worked successfully with a wide range of clients, up to board level, including civil servants, doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses, information technologists and HR specialists, focussing on the use of information and knowledge to improve corporate performance at strategic and operational levels. His particular interest is in effectively combining the disciplines of project management and change management to ensure that the “hard” and “soft” aspects of organisational change are successfully addressed.

• Programme Manager for the Integrated Clinical Workstation (ICWS) Programme, involving the development of prototype systems at 6 NHS sites, supplier management, development of the IT Business Case and training strategies.

• Project Manager for various national programmes working with government departments, NHS organisations, higher education institutions and other stakeholder organisations around staff training, recruitment and retention and workforce planning for healthcare services.
