I provided freelance project management and development services developing e-learning literacy materials for school age children. This involved working with the OUP project team and managing an external software supplier. It has included designing and managing the test processes as well as project planning, scheduling and reporting. I determined and planned design processes and generated design templates as well as carrying out design reviews.

I provided freelance project management services for two projects, developing e-learning literacy materials for adults and school age children. This involved working with a core project team and external suppliers and included running a tender process and generating project plans based on a PRINCE2 approach.

In consortium with Interactive Developers Ltd my company entered into a sub-contractor relationship to complete a National Learning Network adult learning project. I generated and negotiated proposals, and provided project management, instructional design and quality control services to successfully complete the project and enable the client to achieve acceptance six weeks ahead of the planned date.

I provided Project Management and Instructional Design services on a contract basis to PLATO Learning, performing a 15 hour innovative development project for the NLN - National Learning Network (managed by Becta for BECTA, a government agency on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council), this was managed using PRINCE2 and the requirements included the use of international software standards including SCORM, IMS, IEEE.

•Management of a department consisting of instructional designers, media specialists and programmers.
•Project Manager of e-learning development projects utilising the team, bringing in appropriate specialists and subject matter experts to develop software products for the education market.
•Input to ‘Invitations to Tender’ for development projects. Analysis of requirements, production of solutions and formulation of proposals, responsibility for planning, costing and contractual aspects.
•Prior to company expansion additionally managed the technical support and customer training departments.

•Managed commercial and financial aspects of several projects for the Defence and Government group, including Computer Based Training development projects for the defence industry, procurement training in the UK and abroad, and the provision of Management training.
•Managed the production of proposals and responses to ‘Invitations to Tender’.

•Responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, tracking and reporting of Computer Based Training aviation courseware development projects.
•Assisted in the development, introduction and application of the company Quality Management System achieved accreditation under ISO 9001 and TICK-IT schemes.
•Lead designer working with customers in developing objectives and standards, producing and reviewing designs, defining and programming courseware platforms and analysing systems.
•Developed an interface between object code and a CBT authoring system to enable seamless use of system emulations in courseware for both desk top stations and procedure trainer hardware.
•Developed an interactive video courseware interface.
•Performed analysis of customer technical training requirements, from documentation, actual equipment and subject matter experts. This included both aircraft systems and operating procedures.

•Taught Physics and Science at The Littlehampton Community School to ‘A’ level, ‘O’ level and later GCSE. Taught a wide variety of ages and abilities. Promoted during this time and took on the responsibility of second in department.

•Worked in the Defence and Aerospace domain providing Instructional System Design expertise to the Merlin CCU/TSD part task trainer project, this being the merging of CBT with simulation software on an emulated hardware system to train the operation of avionics and sensory systems on a rotary wing aircraft.
•Produced plans, strategies and processes for the development of training materials from job analysis through to detailed design. Produced extensive detailed material at each stage.
•Liaised with software and hardware experts to provide a functioning synthesis of training material and simulation.
•Led a team of twelve courseware developers; this being a mixture of domain experts and specialist e-learning designers.
