I am currently working on a well known article submission site for the above, this includes maintaining the custom php / mysql solution aswell as development on an ongoing basis

Developed a system to display dynamic data pertaining to rentals and sales of overseas properties.

This included a listing and detail page, and also included a fully fledged admin portal to manage the properties.

My role was to develop, maintain and support the mission critical systems and processes that are deployed within an ambulance command and control environment.

This has involved development of modules which plug into the existing application to extend its functionality and usability.

Major projects I have undertaken:
A control for browsing file systems as fast as possible
An import service for importing electronic patient treatment records from XML files (which is currently live at three of the worlds largest ambulance control centres)

My main roles within this company are to provide desktop support to colleagues, and to develop the systems. During my time with this employer I have improved my problem solving abilities, methodology and programming skills.
I was responsible for:
- Supporting all Microsoft software related queries within the company
- Maintaining the servers and network computers and keeping them up-to-date with current versions of software and all security and functionality patches.
- Developing and maintaining the internal information management solution

Projects I have taken on and completed with this employer:
- Proposed, designed, and coded a new fully interactive Intranet site. The site was required to fulfil several objectives, to provide a way for the company to share data. This site included a news page, weekly report section, a joke page and a personal image gallery, and the Intranet portal to the Central Data Store (see below).
- Various improvement projects for the customer relationship and information management software:
Equipment booking: I have created an equipment booking and availability checking function, to prevent double booking of equipment for presentations at educational courses and conferences. Before this was created the equipment was booked via the IT dept, and the list was maintained within an excel spreadsheet. Since I implemented this there have been no “double booking” incidents.
Central Data Store: I designed and implemented this to store various information about the medical education market, including exams, competitors and various other details needed by the company to help evaluate how best to respond to market trends.
Displaying current sales figures versus budget figures for internal success measurement procedures.
Online subscription management, this is designed to allow the customer service department to manage Online subscription queries within a shorter period of time. Before this was created they would email the IT department and we would then connect to the remote SQL server and manually gather the data and correct and errors manually, which was very time consuming.
Designed and implemented the algorithm used for the voucher system on the web-site, this is a 6 digit number with 4 check-digits to prevent people from guessing the next number in the sequence. These voucher codes have been published into 16000 copies of new books that have just been published, they are then redeemed on the web-site and give the customer a free product or a discount.

I was self employed designing and coding various software applications in Visual Basic 6, for various local retail outlets, including label printing and creation software for food products, this saved the owner approximately £5k per annum.

I am currently re-writing this into vb.net, there was also a fully functional EPOS system with complete stock management program builtin.

I was employed as a systems analyst at the above company; my duties involve designing and coding programs, adding new features to the Access database and general IT support. I have had extensive experience in Visual Basic programming at the above employer, which included designing and coding a database to web interface so that the webpage could be updated daily, and also created an electronic mail distribution system.

I worked as a Computer Engineer - part time initially, then progressed to full time during college vacation, in both the Northwich and the Winsford shops of the above company, where I built and tested PC's installing various kinds of peripherals and software and I also provided telephone support pertaining to hardware and software configuration to clients.
In addition to the above I obtained practical experience in implementing my networking and programming skills in the period with the above employer.
