During this contract I was responsible for the redevelopment of a vast amount of databases in use across the council into MS Access 2003 and SQL Server. This included the subsequent migration of existing data from Lotus Approach Databases.

At Mastercard I was the sole analyst developer of a client server database application. The database was designed to support MasterCard’s POS Terminal Security Program. I developed a very powerful and highly adaptive database model allowing the users to modify processes and automatic email communications without any further requirement for programming.

Development of Access 2000 based contract certainty exception and mangement system, premium collection direct debit request system, together with maintenance and development of numerous other access based systems within this insurance market leader

Development of Access 2000 based user defined budgetary reporting suite within finance department, allowing users to query SQL server based data via user friendly front end tool. Development of invoicing system, which automatically created invoices to the correct values based on residential care data. Development of Domiciliary Care Financial Assessment system.

I recently completed the the implementation of this district council's leisure card (smartcard) as the overall project manager.This involves working closely with a number of vendors together with the organisation responsible for the management of the council's centres. Managing the implementation of POS and back office software and hardware together with turnstiles and associated card readers. I also developed an MS Access based sports pitch booking system as part of this role.

My brief here was to analyse the entire organisation and to deliver an enterprise wide business solution. The MS Access front end, SQL back end based solution delivered, supported the entire supply chain and included forecasting multiple customer demand, procurement, receipt, warehousing and shipping . The system has subsequently dramatically contributed to the organisation's significant growth. The success of this project, lead to my being awarded a directorship with a brief to design, document and monitor business process flow.

Development and support of a Microsoft Access 2000 based fault-logging system to enable staff within the call centre to log faults during telephone calls from customers. ODBC link to Oracle table containing customer order and product status. Automated email of fault’s to resolution teams access-outlook integration. Automatic generation of Word documents and mail merge –access-word integration

Development of access 2000 based reporting system, designed to take data files exported from BAAN (MRP system) and provide reports on Bill of Materials Accuracy and the general health of the procurement process in connection with certain aircraft seat build projects. The reports could be automatically output and formatted to excel and word and distributed as attachments via Outlook. A fully integrated MS Office Product, developed in a very short timescale under the immense pressure of a busy manufacturing organisation. This was a highly autonomous role enabling me to use all my skill and experience to deliver a very valuable tool to fit a very specific business problem.

Sole analyst developer of an access 2000 database application designed to allow the user to feed in simulated flight data and to use a vast wealth of data on aircraft engine fuel burn and emission rate by flight phase i.e. Climb out, take off, approach etc. To calculate fuel burn and emissions such as CO and Benzene rates into a 3d cell (lat lon flight level). The system was designed to allow the easy maintenance of other data such as airport and airline dependent taxi configurations to give the most accurate picture possible of fuel burn and emissions during taxi and idle phases.

Sole analyst developer of a management information system to automatically receive feeds from Electronic Point of Sale system and provide management information reports concerning Argos Corporate Link Card sales. Also developed a system to enable retailers to record argos premier points issuance and automatically produce a data file to send to Argos. I was afforded a very high degree of autonomy in this role.
