CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé

Personal Statement

I built my first hypertext system in 1989. Since then I have been employed in a variety of roles including Interactive Designer, Technical Project Manager and Senior producer. Since 2007 I have focused exclusively on User Experience work for the simple reason that I enjoy designing interfaces and systems that work well for normal people.

Some User Experience people seem to be intent on turning User Centered Design into the latest philosophical movement with an approach that borders on the academic. I am not one of them. I do good work and don't faff around.

As a Consultant User Experience Architect I am confident working on IA/UX strategy at a board level on projects for large companies with international brands.

Some of the things I do:

• IA / UX strategy
• Pitch documents, turning scamps and concepts into formal interface designs and system models
• Content auditing, definition of site structure, creation of site maps
• Definition of global and local navigation
• Creation of user journeys
• Production of wireframes using OmniGraffle (preferred) or Visio
• Work with designers, account handlers and clients to create final designs
• Work with development partners to ensure technical feasibility of design solutions

UX Techniques

• Research
• Workshops
• Sketches
• Personas
• User Journeys
• Navigation
• Sitemaps
• Site Audits
• UI Concepts
• Wireframes

Some of the brands I have worked on include: RBS, NatWest, Toshiba, Virgin Atlantic, Bacardi, BSkyB, Shell, Sony Ericsson, ITV, Ordnance Survey, Orange, Citroen UK, Toyota UK, Barclays, Marks & Spencer, Royal Mail, SlimFast, Google, NHS, L'Oreal, Proctor & Gamble.

I have worked at the following agencies: Glue London, Grey London, Iris Digital, Conchango, Tobias & Tobias, Billington Cartmell, Bostock & Pollitt, TMW Digital, Proximity, FullSix, Avenue-A, Brandwidth, Designate, Victoria Real, Epic.
