Created independent hardware & software design qualification group for £20M manufacturing company. Built simulated environments to represent customer installations, produced test specifications, and built team to perform testing. Resulted in increased first time pass rate in production and reduced customer returns.

Change Management:

Outsourced routine hardware and applications support for 7 of the companies 14 ERP systems at a $150m pan-European business under an ITIL based SLA with HP Brussels resulting in improved system performance, freed up internal IT resource for more important projects, and improved disaster recovery capability.

As part of the acquisition team I transferred technical design infrastructure from GEC SEI to GEC Plessey Semiconductors following company acquisition. (Jan 2000 to Dec 2003)

ICT Director EMEA

Brussels - Belgium

Reporting to the CEO Europe and the Global CIO of the newly formed company at the $150m European HQ of a $750m Global Security Products manufacturing company I :-

Negotiated an outsourcing contract with HP to host our Unix servers under ITIL SLAs at the HP Data Centre in Brussels. I moved 6 CS3 and 2 Chess ERP applications from remote countries to the new hardware accessed over the WAN giving users increased performance, improving disaster recovery facility, and making live data immediately available to the Oracle project team. Outsourcing the application support of the existing ERP systems then freed up internal staff for Oracle Project.

Assembled project office and management team then recruited, trained, developed, and motivated up to 30 personnel to carry out project work. Working in close contact with KMPG project manager I managed the $7m 3 year Oracle11i implementation and data conversion across multiple locations (Dublin, Weert - Netherlands, and Brussels for support)

During the Oracle project Interlogix was taken over by GE and the decision was taken not to proceed with replacement of the other ERP systems with Oracle until a full review and merger of Interlogix sales offices with existing GE facilities.

Identified key business metrics and standardised the information delivery from the disparate 14 Oracle and CS3 ERP systems. Build trial data warehouse to consolidate all available data and analyse data, identified business process errors that were causing $18M incorrectly booked sales then setup multi disciplinary teams to correct systems. Migrated trial Data Warehouse to Oracle 9i database in outsourced data centre then headed global team to expand the system into the rest of Interlogix. Project evolved to feed GE Corporate data warehouse and include Business Objects reporting tool.

As a spin off from the data warehouse I developed a tool to monitor compliance with transfer tax regulations monitoring the distribution of profit within a complex supply chain involving many legal entities operating in different countries.

Specified and implemented Cisco Avid VOIP telephony solution in Netherlands factory as initial trial for pan European rollout into key sites to lower telecom costs and improve internal communications. Presented the Interlogix solution at Cisco press conference to launch their new IP phones.
