I have a wide and in-depth knowledge of employment law and related HR issues and policies. This is derived from many years working experience in a variety of contexts including a large public sector organisation, a major trade union and private practice.
As a senior professional manager in the public sector, I have acquired expert knowledge in people management and HR practice.
I have a widespread knowledge of labour relations and trade union legislation and working practices.
I have full knowledge of the Solicitors Code of Conduct and Solicitors Account Rules and all the working practices of a private sector solicitor’s office including the preparation of invoices. I have experience of using a number of time recording and case management systems both computer-based and manual.
Skills and Abilities
I have well developed verbal presentational skills acquired over many years in a variety of contexts including addressing seminars and conferences on a wide range of professional and legal issues. My written and drafting skills are also to a high standard. I am a skilled advocate and negotiator.
I am hard working and can balance and cope with competing work demands. I have good time management skills. I have the ability to work flexibly and without supervision. At the same time, I am able to recognise situations where I need to obtain further professional advice.
I am client-oriented and have good inter-personal skills.
