Designed the Dimension Model, Business Model Design using ERWIN Case tool. Responsible for the ETL process on transaction source files which were in flat file, MS Access and CSV formats into our SQL Server 2000 data warehouse and designing and building MS OLAP Cubes and Cognos Impromptu reports for analysis and reporting. Tools used; SQL Server 2005 Analysis services, SQL Server 2000 DTS, Cognos’ Decisionstream, Stored procedures, VBScripts, T-SQL and ActivexScripts.

ETL(Extraction, Transformation and Loading) Transform data, using DTS and DecisionStream. Data was transformed from heterogeneous sources including Oracle 8i, DB2, Access, Excel, MVS and flat file. Involved extracting data from sources, datatype conversions, data cleansing and scrubbing. Cubes were built using Cognos’ Transformer and Powerplay and Microsoft Analysis services (OLAP). Cubes were deployed as client tools. Also as web applications using Cognos’ Upfront.

Using Cognos’ DecisionStream to extract, load and transform data. DecisionStream was used for various transformation: Pivot, Normalization, Merge and Denormalization. Fact Tables, Dimension tables and cubes were created.
