Victoria, LondonWorked on the Management Information Systems (MIS) project, part of the Wiring Up Youth Justice programme to improve how information is used and shared across the Youth Justice system. My role provided support to the MIS project manager and business change teams to facilitate the introduction of the new youth justice management information system (YJMIS), working with the project stakeholders in the lead up to the pilot.
After three months I took on the Business Analysis workload which included facilitating workshops with the suppliers to specify which data was to be collected in the MIS, which parameters would be included and discussed the future uses of the data to the YJB and other CJOs. I also summarised a feasibility study to investigate the issues surrounding the data we were using / collecting. I presented statistics around the quality and completeness of various data sources (to be loaded into the MIS) and my recommendations.
Responsibilities:
-Planned and carried out the activities necessary to demonstrate the CJMIS prototype, demonstrating its use and training staff in Roadshows and workshops around England and Wales
-Supported the procurement of the YJMIS solution, from tender submission to awarding contract, then managing the process as the single contact for the vendors
-Worked in a small team with a business analyst (for 3 months), application consultant and project manager alongside the supplier to deliver the pilot YJMIS solution.
-Took on Business Analysis role in my workload after 3 months.
-Engaged with the project stakeholders and software suppliers to define the set of requirements for the XML schema
-Worked closely with the Business Change team to ensure that YJS business processes impacted by the MIS project were identified, stakeholders are engaged and change activities were initiated
-Started work to define requirements for Release 2
