This is a contract where I represented BT. Duties include deployment of desktop and laptop pc’s. Here we used VB scripts coupled with SMS to load client side software packages for the many departments of Edinburgh City Council our team surpassed the projected deadline of 2000 machines to be deployed by Christmas.
Also involved in Glasgow county School district network upgrade where I was team leader, Duties included Deployment of Windows 2003 servers, Exchange, Desktops, installed tested school curriculum software and administration/bookkeeping software

EDS August – November 2006
Team-lead For Jobcentre plus Desktop and Server rollout.
Duties include: coordinate with regional manager and site contacts, Create drop-sheets, Organize Site engineers and assign daily workload. Perform daily diary update of work progress, asset management for all hardware old and new. Ensure script implementation meets requirements. Ensure sites are completed in a timely and professional fashion with all relevant documentation completed.
Dumfries/Galloway Council July – August 2006

Installed and configured IBM XSeries Servers in Multiple Schools,
This was a short term contract where I upgraded servers to the IBM XSeries 226 server model. I Installed; IBM’s Innovative TLC School Connect software.
(IBM K-12 Education) Run on Microsoft server 2003, Installed and configured Veritas Netbackup. Migrated all existing data to new servers.

Computacenter-HBOS July 2006

On site 2nd/3rd level server/desktop support. Duties include building Nt4-2003 servers, NT workstations and XP desktops, Break-fix HP Compaq desktops, laptops, and printers.
Working under pressure to tight SLA’s for the Corporate Banking Arm of HBOS.

Hutcheson 3G Glasgow, Scotland June 2006 –
I performed a hardware audit, Break-fix desktops Dell and HP upgrading hardware and new software build using Marimba for software deployment Via NT4 File servers. (This was a short three week contract.)

NHS Glasgow, Scotland April 2006 – May 2006
I was the Team leader in a small five man team of engineers.
Duties included: Organizing and implementing HP/Compaq desktop and laptop installations at multiple locations including; hospitals, clinics, Dr. Offices, using Citrix and SMS for security and software deployment under NT4, Windows Server 2003.
I also implemented the troubleshooting of LAN and WAN connectivity.

IBM Greenock, Scotland Jan 2006 – March 2006
Second level Server support using Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, Tivoli Identity Manager and Remedy. Supporting Windows 2000/2003 server, installation, and configuration and troubleshooting. Resolving Microsoft Exchange issues.

T-Mobile Greenock, Scotland Nov 2005 – Jan 2006
Team member for Windows XP desktop rollout: Windows Server 2003, XP desktop builds and Active Directory to administer/trouble shoot user issues.

Network Engineer

Troubleshooting and repairing desktop/network problems throughout the Charleston County School District, ranging from minor printer problems and administration through to network server reconfiguration.
Rebuilt UNIX systems on HP servers, Installed and configured Cisco Pix firewall and Microsoft ISA on Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
Main platforms were Novell and Microsoft. I often had to build Linux RedHat Enterprise 3 Servers.
Created web applications using Apache, MySql and PHP scripts.
Configured applications such as VSFTPD and many others over 3 years.

Managed Microsoft side of networking for 2000+ servers in two main data centres and multiple satellite locations.
Selected to move to Project Management to ensure the success of Citrix server integration for mobile financial transactions.
Directing team of Field Engineers for roll out of integrated Citrix servers to multi satellite locations after Fleet Mortgage acquired Bank Boston. I also trained the Financial Officers involving travel to various locations throughout North America.

Migration from Novell to Windows NT at Spawar Systems (US Space and Naval Warfare Systems) for 2,000+ users, working as Assistant Designer for this project. Team Lead involved in gathering information and producing a report on the existing networks structure.
Architectural Designer, Where I documented Presales Design of three alternative Windows NT networks for approximately 14,000 users at various SOCOM (Special Operations Command Centre) locations throughout the United States: This covered Special Operations Forces (SOF) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence based Automated System (C4IAS) used at all United States Special Operations Command centers.
Implemented delivery of chosen design.
Used OC12 Backbone with fiber optic to LAN. Integrated existing DOS and Windows applications into Microsoft Windows NT Workstation. (Windows 3x, Win95, MAC, NT Workstation)
Multi protocol, multi server LAN, WAN support, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Remote Access Service, Ethernet, Internet and TCP/IP.

Network Design using NT Single Domain Configuration, with multiple Backup Domain Controllers at Bank branches. Managed installation and follow up support for this network.
