After working with the Microsoft Corporation for 8 months, I decided to go down the self employed route, giving me more freedom to work with one of my biggest passions, Open Source Technlogies. I spent time working on things like OpenID, which is currently providing an alternative to the Microsoft .NET passport on over 1000 sites. With the BBC announcing it's support for the system, that can only mean a more widespread adoption accross the Internet as a whole.

I have spent the time since leaving Microsoft working with many multi-national organisations, bringing their websites and intranets up to scratch all with a degree of success. I now work with the Princes Trust and other such organisations to help small business acheive their full IT potential.

I worked with Microsoft over a 8 month period, bringing their intranet (internal internet) up to scratch. I was in charge of the overall operation and maintainence of the many sites which were run internally, as well as providing support on many levels to staff as required.

In charge of a team of 7 developers and 4 system engineers, I ensured that the intranet was never down for more than 5 minutes, and that those times were at the quietest times on the network. The Microsoft Campus in Reading is a 24/7 campus, meaning that it's doors are always open for staff to be able to work whatever time they feel most productive. This meant occassional service calls at 3am we not unusual, making my ability to be able to wake up quickly a definate bonus.
