PROFILE

I am a degree qualified Senior Design Engineer currently working for the world's largest independent diesel engine manufacturer, Cummins Inc. Soon after leaving university I started work with Cummins as a trainee designer and I have stayed within the design department for over 4 years where I am currently working as part of a global team developing our next generation diesel engine program.

While my main responsibility is the introduction of diesel engine components and sub-systems to meet customer requirements and company/industry standards I do have a number of other roles. These include FMEA site champion, CAD practices and procedures liaison and dimensional variation analysis (DVA) champion and recognised site expert. I have also worked on a number of 6 Sigma projects, which have contributed to an annual saving of £2.5M within the Darlington site.

I work with a large measure of autonomy in my day to day work and I am responsible for the mentoring and guidance of other designers and junior staff which I find greatly satisfying.
