PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
§ December 2001 - Present: Perot Systems Europe, Applications Development Manager, Mayfair, United Kingdom. Working within the Strategic Markets Group to design, plan and cost solutions, and produce bids for various customers and potential customers throughout the UK. Involved in the detailed definition and design of systems, and changes in the working practices of clients to support more effective working environments.
§ November 2000 - December 2001: Perot Systems Europe, Applications Development Team Leader, Groningen, The Netherlands. Working for a Joint Venture between KPN Telecom and Perot Systems leading a team that designed and built an Authorisation Server and Installed Base Server for KPN Internet front-end applications. This involved the design, development, testing and production support of a username based authorisation system that received feeds from legacy systems, and provided numerous Tuxedo services to the front-end systems, detailing authorisation statuses and information on the users telephone lines and installed products. Managed and planned the work load of the team, specified and costed new development and extensions to the existing system, managed customer expectation of the systems, dealt with the Data Centre to ensure the smooth running of the system, provided issue management and bug fixing skills, and developed testing and design strategies.
§ May 2000 - November 2000: Perot Systems Europe, Application Developer, Groningen, The Netherlands. Part of a team developing a middleware component to provide automated product ordering and key customer information to Internet front-end applications. Primarily involved with the coding of various adapters which would provide the communication with the legacy systems, to enable order processing to be completed, and the production of a basic security system to ensure that the caller of the service was authorised for the services it was trying to perform. Managed the liaison with the system testers, and was extensively involved in the issue resolution process.
§ December 1999 - May 2000: Perot Systems Corporation, Lead Developer, Reston, Virginia, United States. Involved in the development of an operational Purge system for National Car Rental that aimed to reduce the size of the operational database, to ensure that equipment cost would not escalate. This involved the development of a series of modules that would mark, delete and archive data when it met a series of customer defined thresholds. Led the successful deployment of this complex and sensitive system to production. Managed the liaison with testers, database and system administrators to ensure a smooth and issue free production release.
§ February 1999 - December 1999: Perot Systems Corporation, Support/Development Lead, Reston, Virginia, United States. Provided issue resolution, design and delivery services for National Car Rental's Canadian operational unit. Working with a large Oracle application and database that had various feeds to financial and reservations systems. Involved in the successful conversion effort to move the Canadian systems onto the same platform and application as was used in the United States, this involved planning, scripting, technical consultancy and issue resolutions for a wide variety of technical and business problems.
§ October 1997 - February 1999: Perot Systems Europe, Team Leader, Heathrow, United Kingdom. Managed the Rental Operations and Sales and Marketing teams for a system that had been developed by Perot Systems for Europcar International. Rental Operations provided support for over 1,700 operational users, over the whole of Europe, and Sales and Marketing provided products and customer information for the whole organisation. Led various other projects such as the testing for the Euro implementation, the production implementation of a Revenue Management System and studies into the growth rate of the system over the next five years. Involved in the design of enhancements to the system, working with the customer to produce specifications, issue resolution and support, development of associates, developing change controls and planning.
§ August 1995 - October 1997: Perot Systems Europe, Systems Engineer, Heathrow, United Kingdom. Working as part of the Sales and Marketing team for the Europcar account, involved in the enhancement and support of a large and complex application based on Oracle. Responsible for designing and developing solutions to customer problems, both for front-end screens and back-end batch processes. Designed, developed and deployed various changes control to customer's requirements and satisfaction.

Providing Backline Line support of the Ingres database, and provided holiday cover for 2nd Line support of Informix, MF Cobol, and ICL's Search Accelerator.
