Leadership and implementation of the change management process to implement Lean Manufacturing strategies and concepts across North Atlantic Consumer Products. Responsible for co-ordinating Lean Transformation programme across 5 pilot mills in Europe and North America. Supported by 8 direct reports across EU & NA functions as well as co-ordinating a team of Lean consultants with a Toyota Production System background.

Role encompasses providing leadership, vision, co-ordination and functional direction for the Barton Plant Team in the areas of cost saving programmes, Unifying practices and Lean manufacturing. Member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Site Director.

Management of 55 Engineers and technicians supporting the maintenance functions for a diaper manufacturing site. Responsibility for coordinating the optimum performance of the maintenance department to support the key plant performance parameters. Providing expert advice and guidance on maintenance practices and supporting the development of the technicians to improve their trouble-shooting capability.

Management of 100 reports and the operation of a 60 million unit Aerosol Production business. Leader in introducing technologies, methodologies and processes that streamlined aerosol manufacture operations. Responsible for delivering business results through the implementation of a Department vision and plan which was in line with the Site’s objectives to achieve stringent quality, production and profit goals. Also had cross-site responsibility for Continuous Improvement Programme which included TPM (site leader) and Focused Improvement project implementation (site trainer).

Management of 40 direct reports and the operation for processing batches of raw materials into Beauty Care products (e.g. hairsprays, fine fragrances, hair colorants etc.) for the packaging lines.

Responsible for the process systems for 6 packing lines & vertical start-up of a £1 million packing line. Project Leader to deliver the vertical startup of a number of global packaging Initiatives in the Styling business.

Conducting consultancy projects with Industrial Companies for CIP systems and completing a PhD research project to study the chemical cleaning of starch deposits.
