Graphic Design/Artworking

I was an experienced member of the team in a young, busy design studio. I designed adverts for an A5 magazine and the company website, which also included the re-design of some of the client’s logos. Designs are often either from scratch using my own ‘freedom of design’ or re-creating an advert from a sketch or previous artwork. I have re-designed MT Media Group’s corporate ID - logo, media pack, letterhead & business cards. I was also in charge of training a new designer. I helped to develop her skills and confidence in designing on the Mac and to a professional standard that the adverts can be published. I found it really rewarding.

I ran the design studio; spending most of my time creating marketing and promotional material for my employer and many clients - some quite prestigious.Whilst working at Thames Offset I gained a vast amount of experience in the printing process, including designing for film and digital, which I did on a daily basis.

I redesigned and modernised both the magazines under my control. I was responsible for the design and layout of editorial pages, adverts, covers and promotional material. This involved writing articles and doing the necessary research, picture selection, project management, subbing copy to style and creating graphs and graphics. I was also personally responsible for the design and upkeep of the magazine’s web site.

In this fast paced design agency I created and developed imaginative ideas for a variety of key accounts. This gave me a huge amount of experience including the arrangement of photo shoots.
