Since April 2003, I have been involved in three consecutive projects:

eServe Global Ltd
Several (10+) short-term contracts (from a few days to several weeks), writing test documentation for eServe’s telecommunications billing software. As these procedures are used by Belgian and Dutch testers, I have used Simplified English. More recently, eServe have contracted me to produce the Web Help pages for their Drupal based Intranet site.

Tastic Multimedia Ltd
Design, write and implement an HTML Help system and User Guides for Modus, Tastic’s Business Management tool. The Help Files have been compiled using Helpmatic Pro and HTML and the User Guides written in PagePlus and delivered as a PDF/X-1a file for professional printing.

Handbook for Test Managers
I have felt for some time, that I would like to apply myself to a pure authoring exercise and have therefore written a handbook for test managers. This handbook is based on my experience in Quality Assurance Testing and contains my own innovative methodologies along with well-established processes. I am currently adapting it for use as an electronic training manual.

Task: Design, write and implement an HTML Help system and User Guides for a Test and Planning Management tool. The tool architecture comprises Java GUI and interfaces with MS Access and MYSQL databases. I have hand crafted the Help Files using HTML/Java Script and built them into .CHM files using MS HTML Help Compiler. The User Guides are written in MS Word and converted to PDF format.

Task: Integration of the S&NM function of a large Web Hosting Centre. Writing and planning the network management Integration Test Scenarios and Test Strategy. Review and sign-off of test scripts and test results, verifying that the quality management processes are adhered to. Compile and maintain Test Progress and Issues reports for presentation to Test and Project Management.

Task: Define test processes to be applied to the Java based Customer Care Platform (CCP) to demonstrate its technical and business integrity through analysis of business and logic data flows. Develop and maintain a Dynamic System Test Database (Visual Basic and MS Access) used to monitor test scripts, test runs and provide management reports. Reporting to the CCP Lead and appropriate release Project Managers. Provide guidance to the System Implementation Team.

Task: Integration of the S&NM function of a large Web Hosting Centre. Building (physical) S&NM platform, including patching and the provision of development down links, hubs etc. Writing and carrying out S&NM Verification Tests designed to demonstration the correct installation of S&NM applications and the correct configuration of servers, polers, workstations and Cisco switches. Writing and maintaining the S&NM Network Patching Schedule.

Task: Migration of applications to Visual Basic and MS Access. Resolving Y2K issues and carrying out approved system development. Writing Impact Analysis, Test Plans, Project Plan and Contingency Plans.

Task: Writing the Y2K System Test Strategy, Test Methodology, Test Plans and Project Plan. Guiding non-technical users through writing and completing Y2K testing.

Task: Analysis of system test requirements for customer loan banking services platform. Writing System Test Strategy, Test Plan and definition of test data, stubs and drivers. Assessment and recommendation of commercial test tools.

Task: System testing of a UNIX-based client server banking services platform. Writing and executing X-Runner test scripts. Development of an MS Access test database with a Visual Basic front end. Building and maintaining the test network.

Task: Involved in the systems testing of the BT Cashless Services Replacement System (CSRS). Writing automated test scripts to generate calls from a call sender. Development of an EXCEL application with a Visual Basic front-end used for the retrieval and tabulation of call and billing information from the mainframe.
