Dual Skilled Aircraft Engineer
I currently work for Babcock Defence Services, contracted to the “Hawk integrated operational support” program ran by BAE Systems. I work at first line despatching and recovering armed Aircraft for the R.A.F.I also work in the Rectification department. Fault finding, removing and replacing airframe and propulsion components. and then making the systems ready for flight. I was recently successful in having a component that I designed introduced into the whole fleet of R.A.F. owned Hawks. I am also a volunteer member of my local R.N.L.I. Lifeboat crew.

Deckhand
Holyhead Towing CompanyEmployed initially as a Deckhand until 1998 when I attended and passed a Marine Engineering course at the Sea school. Gravesend. Kent. I then returned to sea as an Engineer/Deckhand. My duties included, General maintenance of main engines and generators, air compressors and three electrical systems. 12v, 24v, and 240v domestic. Maintenance and use of a 15 tonne m.p.s. deck crane. I was responsible for the replacement of all hoses and rams and all preventative maintenance. correct loading of deck cargo and bunkers (fuel/water). Operation and maintenance of all other deck equipment ie Winch. Capstan. Anchor windlass. Ropes and Wires. The last two years I spent in Sweden working on the “Oresund link” bridge. At the time the largest engineering project in Europe.

During this period I became interested in Hydraulic systems whilst maintaining a friends wagon which carried a small crane. I then did some work on vehicle brake systems. I also did some collage courses in Heating engineering and Sign writing.

Commander responsible for an eight man, two gun section. I also realised my
Ambition of becoming the Platoons Leading Tipper on the ceremonial side. I
Paraded in front of most of the Royal family and leading Politicians of the time.
