April 1995- Present Engaged on a joint TWRNolvo project to produce two
niche vehicles for Volvo, namely a new
Coupe and a new Cabriolet. I was involved with the B.I.W. design of the
Cabriolet in particular
the bodyside.
DAEWOO MOTOR CO CONTRACT DESIGN ENGINEER
September 1994 - April 1995 At the Daewoo Technical Centre Worthing, I
received CATIA training, after which I was
employed on the: design and engineering on the external trim section.
LOTUS ENGINEERING CONTRACT ENGINEER
April 1994 - September 1994 Engaged on a project to convert the Bugatti
EB 110S to right hand drive, involving rework to
pedal box front bulkhead, floor, chassis and steering gear, working on
own initiative together with
one other designer.
PEUGEOT SPORT CONTRACT DESIGN ENGINEER
November 1993 - April 1993 Engaged on the design of the 1994 B.T.C.C,
Race car, based on the Peugeot 405 Mi16. Involved
with the packaging and design of brakes, suspension, installation, pedal
box and other areas of the
car, engine. Working most of the time on own initiative and other times
in
con. junction with the chief designer. Part of the requirement of the job
was to liaise with sub
contractors of fabriCions, casting and machined parts.
McLAREN CARS LIMITED CONTRACT DESIGN ENGINEER
April 1992 - November 1993 Working on the F 1 supercar, directly
responsible to the chief designer for the packaging and
design of the FI. Areas worked on include body, interior trim and various
packaging exercises.
The F1 was a car built and designed using Formula 1 technology and
materials. The
monocoque, chassis and body panels were in carbon fibre which presented
problems on the build,
it was the first time carbon fibre had been used to produce body panels
for a road car, I was
involved with the build of the first six prototype road cars.

February 1992-April 1992 Engaged on the chassis design of the 1992 Formula 1 car.

July 1991 - February 1992 Engaged on Interior design concept for Rolls
Royce, in particular the packaging; of the HVAC
unit and ducting to the front and rear compartments, also packaging of
ducting within the I.P. area,
including work On the metal substrate supporting the whole structure of
the I.P.
PORSCHE (Weissach) DESIGN ENGINEER

February 1989- June 1991 While at Porsche I was involved in the design of
a carbon fibre chassis, for the 962C race car, to
be directly replaceable with the existing chassis. I was also responsible
for the design of the jigs
and build fixtures that would be required. Another project was the 1990
Porsche lndycar, which
included work on the uprights, suspension and bodywork modifications,
including crash nose. My
final project at Porsche was the design concept for the 989, a four door,
four wheel drive, four
wheel steer, four seater Porsche.
MERCEDES (Germany) CONTRACT ENGINEER
July 1988-January 1989 Engaged in the interior trim for S class Mercedes,
in particular the heading design, incorporating
sunroof for both the long and short wheelbase vets gas. I was also
involved with B.I.W. work to
the rear quarter.

The main project, I was involved in at Porsche was the design of a carbon fibre chassis for the 962C Group C race car to be directly replaceable with the existing chassis. As well as the design of the chassis, I was also asked to design the jigs and build fixtures that would be required, My second project was the 1990 Porsche Indyear which included work on the uprights, suspension and bodywork modifications including the crash nose.
The remainder of my time at Porsche was spent on the design concept for the 989, a four door, four wheel drive, four wheel steer, four seater Porsche. Durin8 this period I received CATIA training (minus advance surfaces with two months work experience afterwards).

Working on the F I supercar, I was directly responsible to the Chief Designer for the packaging and design of the F1. Areas worked on included body, interior trim, crash structure and various packaging exercises. Space and weight saving was always a major consideration with the F1, a car built and designed using Formula 1 technology and materials. The monocoque, chassis and body panels were in carbon fibre which presented more than a few problems on the build. It was the first time carbon fibre had been riser to produce body panels for a road car and as such presented a whole new set of problems.
I was heavily involved in the build of the first prototypes.

I was engaged on the design of the 1994 BTCC race car based on the Peugeot 405 Mil 6.
I was involved with the packaging and design of brakes, suspension, engine installation and pedal box as well as other areas of the car.
I worked some of the time on my own initiative and at other times from the Chief Designer's schemes. Part of the requirement of the job was also to liaise with sub contractors of fabrications, casting and machined pans.
