EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Mar 1999 to Present EDL (PACKAGING ENGINEERS) LTD.

EDL are a producer and importer of capital equipment for the packaging industry, specifically shrink wrapping and all "down stream" processes. As a manufacturer, EDL are able to integrate complex lines having the programming and logic skills in house, and present full turn key handling systems to the market.

Duties / Responsibilities:

· Responsible for Manufacturing site activity (£3.5M Turnover).

· Responsible for P&L and margin attainment, forecasts and budgeting.

· Lead new machine development programme.

· Develop key supplier partnerships.

· Take responsibility for product compliance and ensure company's staff competency mix supported the business objectives.

1996 to 1999 PROJECT / INTERIM MANAGER - VARIOUS CLIENTS - SELF EMPLOYED

Short to medium term contracts working for various clients in manufacturing, media and service industry, providing Project or Interim Management services. A significant contract was completed during 1997 acting as a Project Manager for a supplier of automated manufacturing/handling cells. Typically these cells are used in a foundry mould preparation department and are designed around six axes robots for material handling and manipulation.

Duties / Responsibilities:

· Responsible for all capital equipment projects covering clients in USA, Israel, Italy, and UK.

· Projects completion on time and within budget.

· Directly responsible for a team of mechanical and electrical fitters.

· Nominated primary contact with the clients.

· Responsible for programme development.

· Scheduled projects from formal contract acceptance through Engineering release, sub contract manufacture, in house assembly, customer acceptance and sign off, shipping and final installation.

· Responded to and acted on all technical, logic, and programme enquiries.

· Instigated formal testing procedures, contract acceptance and recording of customer communication.

Six months spent with Honda of the UK Manufacturing specifically working with the logistics team in establishing off site distribution of incoming components and working toward "batch of one" scheduling.

Duties / Responsibilities:

· Section Management responsibility for Engine Material Services (including project and systems group).

· Develop and improve supply stream logistics for Japan, and European components.

· Development of off-site warehousing facility, to include "Customs Warehouse" control.

· Control of Inventory levels.

· Manage department activity in respect of future projects - "Cost down", "New plant" etc.

Other contracts have been completed in the fields of Marketing, Production Control, IT Development, and Factory/Plant Development.

1987 to 1996 CRONITE ALKAST LTD. - BARNSTAPLE

Manufacturers of aluminium investment castings for aerospace and defence applications. Forty-four employees.

DIRECTOR & GENERAL MANAGER

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Reporting to PLC group (Off site MD).

· Full Profit and Loss responsibility, including budgeting and forecasting to main Group.

· Manufacturing Development.

· Controlled growth achieving performance measures.

· Implementation of ISO 9000.

· Implementation of TQM and Investor in People programme.

· Responsible for recruitment, HR, training and safety management.

· Implement Process improvements to meet environmental legislation (EPA 1990).

· Develop management team - achieve autonomy from group in all management functions.

1984 to 1987 CRONITE PRECISION CASTINGS LTD. - CREWKERNE

1977 to 1984 HOWMET TURBINE UK LTD. - EXETER & USA

Manufacturers of investment castings for high service requirements industries i.e. gas turbines. Approximately 600 employees.

During my employment with Howmet spent 13 months based in the USA with the parent group.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Control of yield rates for key accounts.

· Process development and production monitoring.

· New part approvals and submission packs.

· Customer liaison and sales support.
