·Co-ordination of 100 people on shift in all manufacturing areas (press shop, welding, paint and assembly)

·Single piece flow assembly line layout increasing output by 120% and reducing space by 50%

Schlumberger Cards UK March 1999 - September 2000

Manufacturing credit and mobile phone (SIM) cards for banks / companies world-wide approximately 4,500,000 cards per month employing 150 people operating 24 hour a day 7 days per week.

·Implemented, trained and communicated monthly "Quality Focuses" e.g. The 7 Wastes, process yield indicators, problem solving teams factory wide. Resulting in waste lowered from 25% to 10%, Work in Progress reduced by 50%

·Reduced Cost of Non Quality to below 2% from 6% in 1999 (£110,000 below target 3%)

·Created local quality strategy and set World-wide quality objectives / initiatives

(12 month Cranfield placement + 4 month Contract position) reporting to the Quality Manager

Manufactures of diesel injection systems for Rover, Ford, Peugeot & Renault employing 1000 people operating 24 hour a day 7 days per week.

Responsibilities / Achievements

·Achieved £5,000,000 saving by conducting and leading Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing workshops, resulting in 30% space saving, process utilisation and just in time line design

·Implement total quality disciplines across the factory

·Co-ordinated the training (2 & 4 days courses) for all employees (personally trained 200 people)

·Day to day co-ordination of 30 Total quality facilitators

·Member of QS 9000 implementation team

·Lead FMEA & SPC teams for new product introduction

Developed additional training materials trained additional TQ facilitator and created a self-sustaining system.
