January 2006 to August 2006 Lean Consultant







Working with a print manufacturing company to train personnel at all levels on Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques plus implementation of key projects with shop floor improvement teams. Six Sigma training/implementation launched where escaping defects were recorded.

Key Achievements

· Zero defects policy implemented on key lines

· Lean training modules successfully delivered to customer requirements

· Targeted improvements successfully implemented

May 2005 to October 2005 - Site Manager (Annesley Site and European Pack Centre in Mansfield)







Eastman Kodak is a worldwide organisation with 64,000 employees and sales of $13.3 billion in 2003. The site employed 450 people and supplied consumer and professional finished products throughout Europe.

Key Achievements

· Planned and implemented detailed closure plans for two sites; including people exit program

· Both sites closed on time, within budget and personnel managed without major incidents







2003 to 2005 Quality Manager - Kodak Limited







In 2003, The Kodak Limited Annesley site recorded the worst quality performance in any of the worldwide sites mainly due to the high level of external customer complaints. As a Black Belt, I was appointed into the Quality Managers position to reverse the trend and work with Quality Technicians & Engineering to improve our performance.



Key Achievements

· Zero defect mentality implemented (site wide that became a Worldwide program)

· No defects recorded in last two years of operation

· Major change in attitude and approach towards resolving problems

















2002 to 2003 Manufacturing Excellence Manager - Kodak Limited







A position created to implemented a six sigma and lean strategy plus work along side manufacturing in order to improve their performance (Key Performance Indicators).



Key Achievements

· Significant improvement achieved in manufacturing performance

· Ground work commenced on developing a six sigma program of improvement

· Kaizen activity rapidly increased and training with Japanese Sensei continued







1998 to 2002 High Volume Production Manager - Kodak Limited







In 1997, a large number of high volume manufacturing machines were transferred to the Kodak Limited Annesley site. These were in a poor condition and performed well below par. The initial layout of the lines was not using lean thinking methodology. I was appointed into this position in to improve the line performances and work with the production teams to develop cellular working (self managing teams).



Key Achievements

· Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) raised from 25% to 85% and sustained

· Order performance raised to over 96%

· Self managing teams implemented and layers of management removed

· Cellular line layout implemented, mainly through kaizen activities.

· First Heijunka planning system implemented

1992 to 1998 Engineering Management - Kodak Limited







Various positions held within the engineering department with specific responsibility to improve the level of service, implementation of standard work practises, modular maintenance programs, performance equipment monitoring, craft skills analysis and service level agreements.

· Modular maintenance programs implemented across site

· Condition monitoring systems introduced

· Craft skills analysed and training programs introduced

· Perfmance monitoring systems devised and implemented
