Worked in the automotive leisure industry as a NPI project/design and development engineer for Motor Homes and Caravans at the Swift Group in Hull.

This position involved the design and development of new products from 'cradle to grave', achieving best costs with suppliers, creation of 3D models and drawings for manufacture and liasing with the BOM and LRIP departments to ensure correct parts and part numbers have been listed for each product.

My diverse background in design and manufacture engineering helped to establish myself as a key point of contact for design and engineering issues within the Swift Group.

May -2001

Sept 2003 Contracted to BAE SYSTEMS as a Design Consultant/Egineer, this involves being the sole point of contact for assessing and rectifying design and manufacture problems on detail components and assemblies including fabrications and composites being manufactured on the shop floor at various sites and production stages. This can result in the re-design of detail components and structures, to cost and deadlines, using the design media available such as CATIA, CADDS5 and Dvise DMU cad systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

May-2001 Contracted to Midcast Engineering (Wales) designing high precision vacuum chuck base plates for machined components for Boeing and BAE SYSTEMS.

April-2001 Worked for KSR AUTOMOTIVE (Scunthorpe) as a Design and Development Engineer, designing automotive components for the research department adhering to cost and deadlines.

1992-2001 Senior Tool Design / Manufacturing Engineer, BAE SYSTEMS (Brough).

Responsible for the design of form/press tools, detail jigs, fixtures, sub-assembly jigs, assembly jigs, installation tools and ICY tools for various aircraft components and assemblies.

Liaison between Tool Design department and In- house/sub-contractor tool manufacture departments/companies.

As part of an Integrated Product Team I was involved in implementing tooling features into the design of aircraft components and assemblies.
