Feb 08 – To Present Atlantis Gas Plant, RAK Gas Commission,

Senior QA/QC Inspector (Third Party Mechanical & Welding – SGS)
Project: The fabrication and installation of Process Piping for increasing the capacity of the gas output, in accordance with ASME B31.3 & B31.8, to the old existing Gas Plant. After the addition of a new offshore gas platform.
Responsibilities: Seconded from SGS Gulf Ltd. To represent the client: RAK Gas
Commission: and their representative: Pearl Development Corporation: in carrying out an independent TPI Audit and Review of the work performed by their Contractor: Marine Industrial Services: to verify the contractors conformance in working within the scopes of B31.3 & B31.8 prior to commissioning the new plant. Audits are carried out on the various QC Dossiers that have been compiled on the work done for the mechanical and welding installations of the process piping in various areas of the existing plant for increasing the capacity before commissioning and start up. The areas being: increased piping in the SLUGCATCHERS, EARLY GAS (covers the input of sour gas coming ashore), additional piping installed in the existing plant for refining the sour gas into sweet gas and the LPG Tank Storage Area. The Audits involve every section of every dossier being reviewed for all documentation, report and certification verification. There is also the involvement of carrying out reviews on all the Radiograph Films that have been taken. Where discrepancies or non compliances are found recommendations are put forward to both the client and their representative to have either their contractor correct or submit the necessary documents or reports. Upon failure to do so the quality of the work is either reassessed by re inspection or re doing then re inspection and re testing. When this Auditing is successfully completed and verification of compliance by the contractor is accepted then Final Inspection & Acceptance Reports will be signed off, stamped and issued to each areas dossier so enabling them to be signed off and stamped for acceptance by the client.

Senior QA/QC and Welding/NDT Inspector
(Upgraded to NEWS / NDT Inspection Supervisor in August 06)
Project: Seconded by NDT Services Ltd. (DZ) to act as a QA/QC and Inspection Representative for the main contractor, Parsons Fluor Daniels (PFD). Who are responsible for the development of the Tengiz Oilfield by constructing and installing plant and equipment such as the new SGP (Second Generation Plant) to the existing Refinery plus upgrading the Refinery, a new SGI (Sour Gas Injection) Plant and new pipelines to connect all with either existing or new well heads.
The main client being Tengizchevroil (TCO).
Responsibilities: All QA/QC, Inspection, NDT and Testing related to the Construction and Installation of plant and equipment (structures, pipe racks, piping, pipelines, vessels, tanks etc.) in order to verify compliance with the specified Quality Requirements. This being ASME B31.3 and the client’s specifications for pipelines and pipe work. By monitoring the various teams of Inspectors and NDT Technicians, in the field, the quality of work was verified in meeting these requirements through the following Inspections and Testing,s: Pre-weld and Post-weld joint acceptance, NDT (MT,PT,UT and RT), PMI ( Positive Material Identity), PWHT, Hardness, As Builts etc. Coupled with full reviews on all their related documentation to verify all relevant data was fully recorded with full compliance to the quality requirements. All this data when accepted was loaded into the “NEWS” Program (Non Destructive Examination Welding System), which enabled systems or lines to be monitored for mechanical completion and so released for System or Hydro Testing. Liaison with the client (TCO) at hold and witness points and at the acceptance and signing over after final dossier reviews was carried out .
Upgraded to NEWS / NDT Inspection Supervisor in August 06 with the merger of the QA/QC Departments of both the main Contractor, PFD, and the main Subcontractor, SK, to enhance the quality requirements of the project and to install added impertise to the lesser experienced and young QA/QC Department of SK. Responsible for the Supervision of over 22 NDT Technicians and Inspectors and 8 “NEWS” Program Technicians. Thus Supervising all the NDT&NEWS requirements for the new SGP Plant as its Section Head of the NEWS / NDT (QC) Department. This ensured all NDT requirements were carried out, completed, documented and installed in “NEWS” in order then that the system / line packs could be released for testing (hydro etc.). Post testing requirements for re installment and pre commissioning could also be monitored prior to final release for handover and signing off for commissioning.

QA/QC Inspection Advisory / Consultancy Supervisor
Project : As part of SA Kentz Project Management Team brought in / seconded to work on behalf of the client, ASPC. To oversee, advise, monitor and supervise their Quality Rectification Programme on the Olefines No.9 Ethane Cracking Plant at Bander Assaluyeh, Iran. Carried out during the fabrication / welding and installation of the structure, process piping, pipelines and storage tank farm facilities.
Responsibilities : Consult and Advise with the clients Senior Quality / Inspection Management on how the poor standard of quality workmanship, by their various contractors, could be rectified in order to satisfy the standards and designer specifications for acceptance as fit for purpose. Monitoring and supervising the clients inspection personnel to ensure correct procedures and good working practices were implemented. Carrying this further down, for acceptance, through the various contractors QA / QC Inspection and workforce activities. Achieving this by carrying out Full Reviews of all Documentation, Procedures, NDT and Test Packages. Monitoring / Supervising Line Punching prior to hydrotest and / or reinstatement, hydrotest checks, PWHT, and Inprocess Operations ( coating & insulation ). With final systems dossier reviews prior to final signing off for handover to Commissioning.
Standards used are ASME B31.3,API 1104, API 620 & 650, ASME VIII Division 2, ASME IX & ASME V.


Jan 04 - May 05 IPS Gabon Ltd., P1426, Port Gentile,
Gabon Republic, West Africa
Piping / Welding Inspector ( upgraded to Senior / QA - QC Coordinator )
Project: The Rabi Phase 3 Gas Compression Upgrade ( Shell Gabon - West Africa ). Liaison with Shell being through the main contractor: Mott Macdonald in installing 3 ( 24" dia. ) and 1 ( 12" dia. ) pipelines plus installing additional plant / equipment, piperacks, process piping and tie-ins to existing plant.
Responsibilities : On site for all QC / Piping / Welding activities related to the installing of the field pipelines and in plant process piping in accordance with standards : ASME B31.3 / 4 and 8, ASME IX, API 1104, ASME V, BS EN 287 / 288 Parts 1 and BS 5135. To cover verification of all materials and consumables, pre-weld joint set-ups, WPS and Welder Qualification, consumable control and issue, in process welding inspection, post weld visual / dimensional acceptance, monitor all NDT, PWHT, coating / insulation and other testing requirements ( hydro ) plus interpretation and actions upon results, punchlisting outstanding items, record fully all data requirements for full trace ability and review the compilation of producing test packs, documentation and final signing off etc. In May 04 upgraded in status to cover back to back duties with the existing Senior / QA - QC Coordinator, which included supervision of the QA - QC Inspection Department and the NDT Department .

Senior QA - QC Welding Inspector
Project: QA/QC Site Inspection of all work carried out by Dee Tech Services in relation to the installation and welding of (A) internal and external pipe work for the newly erected high pressure steam boiler and (B) the laying of pipelines (diameters ranging from 18" down to 2") in the newly erected pipe rack gantries / bridges to service the plant and to feed and service to and from the new boiler. Standards used were BS 1113 ( BS EN 12952 ) and ASME B31.1. Answerable to Dee Tech Services Senior and Quality Management but required to liaison with the two clients: Siemens ( for the pipelines ) and Standard Fasel - Lent Jes BV (for the boiler internal / external piping) plus The Inspection Authority - Lloyds Register.
Responsibilities: All QA/QC site matters relating to the following : releases for all materials to be allowed on site, welding procedure and welder qualification review and updating, consumables control, drawing review / updates, all post weld visual inspections, co-ordinate all NDT and PWHT activities, co-ordinate the coating / insulation activities, co-ordinate the preparation of test packages for systems testing and re-instatements, make out daily and weekly summary progress reports, ensure that compliance is followed on all site safety procedures, sign off and issue acceptance certificates.


Feb. 02- April 03 Chevron Nigeria Ltd., River & Delta States, Nigeria
Mechanical / Welding Inspection Supervisor
Projects: Supervising & inspecting work carried out on Chevron,s on / off shore facilities by Contractors. Answering to Chevron Construction. Work carried out on pipelines, risers, wellhead & topside piping, pressure vessels, tanks, platform upgrades, manifolds etc. plus supervision of the running of the Jack-Up / Pipelay Barges to carry out and complete the assigned projects.
Responsibilities : All QA / QC, welding, hydro-testing, coating, final completion & sign off, follow SIMOPS & Company Safety Procedures, supervise multi disciplined squad of nationals ( on both work and NDT requirements ), deal with work related problems & material shortages & follow anchor patterns, review contractors personnel & procedures. Make out daily reports plus review and sign off upon completion.

Responsibilities: Co-ordinate & supervise on areas to be refurbished and inspected. Assigning and Supervising NDT Personnel to cover MPI, DP, UT & RT. Interpreting results for acceptance or recommended actions if rejected. Liaise with Operations for permit access. Produce reports. Follow / Supervise planned maintenance programmes and corrective maintenance schedules in order to achieve start up target dates.
