Experienced Instrument / Electrical engineer formerly employed by an International Petrochemical Company in which I specialised in analytical system design, installation and maintenance. Have short term teaching experience in an apprentice programme at a Grangemouth Petrochemical company and, College lecturing. At Fluor, Camberley, undertaken Analyser Systems design and implementation audit and review prior to installation completion and Project close-out. Recently I was employed through Jacobs Engineering on small Project jobs at BP FPS and INEOS.

1 Leadership of maintenance teams to implement defined competencies in analytical instrument and electrical installations, and repairs.
2 Three-year appointment as Team Leader of a seven-man team formed from three graduate I/E engineers, graduate chemist, two laboratory analysts and an instrument technician.
3 Developed roles for a specialist support team within an Analytical Services department to improve on-line and off-line hydrocarbon analysis technical support.
4 Arrange and implement vendor training for technician teams. Organise on-the-job technician training for new analyser instrument installations.
5 Develop and review engineering documentation and standards with respect to analytical installations. Includes operational and maintenance guidance for analytical systems and ventilation of explosive sample system enclosures containing electrical equipment.

8 Engineering support to a Works Laboratory, this consisted of multiple laboratories, offices and service rooms; for example, steam calorifiers and electrical distribution.
9 Engineering support to Project Departments and Major Engineering contractors for new analyser projects with view to bringing on-line analytical equipment from vendor testing to Site installation, and handover to Operations.
10 Raising and implementing approved Plant Modification proposals for analytical systems.
11 Appraisal and control of annual maintenance budgets for on-line analyser and Laboratory repair materials and labour. Value of annual budgets from £50K to £250K.
Technical and Skills:
12 Engineering of corrective solutions for on-line process analysers, building environments housing analytical systems and Process sample systems.
13 Electrical involvement to 440/250volt level for building distribution, fan motors (local ventilation systems), electrical heat tracing, and on-line analyser distribution requirements.
14 Electrical authorisation to Level 2 for isolation and restoration of electrical power up to 440 volt and, inspection and approval of contractor portable appliances.
15 Installation and maintenance of Laboratory equipment such as, electrical distribution rated at 255 and 110Va.c.
