To lead the safe delivery of projects to achieve cost, time and quality objectives within corporate guidelines and to develop appropriate delivery and supply strategies and plans for specific projects in support of the Development Manager.

Responsible for

· Deliver the project(s) safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and other specific legislation including CDM Regulations.

· Liase with planners, the client and other project partners to plan, monitor and control the sequence of construction work.

Consultant to Thales Information Systems (TIS) Jan 03 - April 04

Project

Train Identification Management Information System (TIMIS) for LUL. The system provides for the provision of equipment both trackside and train bourn for identifying train positions on the rail network. Working closely with Metronet Rail SSL on all safety related matters.

Responsibilities:

· System design

Design of fibre networks

· Surveying for equipment deployment

Surveying of LUL rolling stock, identifying equipment installation location and cable runs. The writing and issuing of detailed reports

· The provision of engineering support to Metronet SSL for the identification of civil works and station and tunnel surveys.

· Logistics policy

Author of the TIS Logistics Policy for the TIMIS project. The document encompasses all LUL Standards, Processes and Procedures to meet LUL requirements.

· Material approvals

To ensure that all materials proposed by Thales-IS meet LUL standards and gain LUL approval for installation.

Author of the TIS Material Approval Specification.

· Site access

Defining site access arrangements between Thales-IS and LUL, Thales-IS personnel training requirements etc.

Consultant to Thales Telecommunication Services Ltd (TTSL) May 01 - Dec 02

Project

The design and technical solution for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) GSMR. The second and final section of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link between North Kent to St. Pancras Station currently under construction. This section consists of several tunnels that require the need of radio coverage.

Resulting in Thales-TS winning bid.

Responsibilities:

· Technical solution

Advised Thales-TSL on suitable coverage solution based upon, best technology and costs.

· System design

· Advise Thales-TSL on system design based on best technical solution

· Development of initial response to tender document.

· Meetings with system suppliers.

Identify best technology (quality, environmental compatibility, cost and future proof technology)

· Bid documentation

Provided Thales-TS with their bid documentation for submission to client, providing design, costs, time scales, programme and compliance to standards.

· Feasibility study and report

Design detailed feasibility plan for GSMR coverage within Tunnel areas.

GSM & GSMR coverage within EuroTunnel

EuroTunnel's radio communications have now been in place for over 10yrs and with the advent of GMSR Euro Tunnel require their complete system to be upgraded. It is also proposed that a GSM public system be installed at the same time. Resulting in Thales-TS qualifying as Euro Tunnel's preferred bidder.

Responsible for:

· The project management of the feasibility surveys.

· Tunnel surveys.

· Devised and the overseeing of radio testing in the tunnel and concession areas. Liaised directly with Euro Tunnel to manage 2-month feasibility study.

· Feasibility study and report.

· Managed a team of 5 engineers over a 3 month period both in France and the UK.

· Design detailed feasibility plan for GSM & GSMR coverage within Tunnel areas and GSMR within concession areas. Production of report to Thales-TS detailing findings and coverage recommendations from feasibility study.

· Technical solution

Advise Thales-TSL on suitable coverage solution based upon meeting the end users requirement, both EuroTunnel's GSMR and the GSM Cellular Network Operators. The solution had to take into consideration to the operational requirements of EuroTunnel and the limited access to the running tunnels.

· System design

· Advise Thales-TSL on design based on best technical solution

· Meetings with system suppliers.

Identify best technology (quality, environmental compatibility, cost and future proof technology)

· Bid documentation

Provided Thales-TS with their bid documentation for submission to client, providing design, costs, time scales, programme and compliance to standards.

AGL Systems Ltd June 99 - March 01

Operations Manager

One of three personnel brought in to the Aerial Group to set up a new business arm of the company to be known as AGL Systems Ltd, providing, turnkey solutions to the major cellular network operators, offering a total package from design, installation to commissioning. AGL Systems became a recognised leader in in-building and confined space solutions for radio and cellular operators and creating a turn over of £1m in the first 6 months from July to December '99 and an order book of £3.5m for 2000 offering full turnkey solutions both in the UK and worldwide.

Becoming a member of the core team in positioning Aerial Group for its successful sale to Spectrasite-Transco in November 2000.

Working directly to the Managing Director and having total responsibility for the set up and management of project management, engineering and drawing office.

Responsibilities included: -

· Bid management.

· Business development and forecast.

· The production of quotations to customers offers to tender. The recruitment, man management of 35 staff members whose, duties included project management, system designs, surveying, commissioning of systems, inventory control, and logistics.

· The management of sub-contractors both internal and external.

· The successful installation of the first RF over fibre solution in the UK (LGC Wireless).

· The production of quality processes, procedures and work instructions to comply with ISO registration and to satisfy customer audits.

P-Com, Inc. March '97 - April '99

Redditch

European Operations Manager.

Interfacing with VP of European Operations and VP Manufacturing. Other responsibilities include the logistics, production and QA of units through the UK facility. Co-ordinating and prioritising the throughput of microwave radios through Customer Acceptance Testing and MHSB (soak test) test.

Having total responsible for the European Operations of this worldwide microwave radio supplier. Responsibilities included: -

· The setting up of the European test, repair and distribution centre in the UK.

· The management of 24 staff members whose, duties included testing, repair, QA, re-work, inventory control, and logistics.

· To produce quality processes, procedures and work instructions for both the UK and US to comply with ISO registration and to satisfy customer audits.

· As facility manager, with total responsibility for the day to day running and budget of the test, repair and distribution centre.
