Project Information

The largest project I have worked on to date was with Dietsmann overseas services on the installation of the 97 Tonne blister to the forward port leg. This project was an intricate and important instalment to the safety structure of the Dundee Explorer oil rig. This project had a workforce of fifty staff and was carried out in dry dock in Rotterdam. For the buoyancy tank blister with dimensions of 120 feet high and 18 feet wide to be positioned on to the semi submersible leg, there were four fifty tonne jacks, ten tonne pull lifts and twenty tonne chain blocks used. These were mostly surface and as a result large scaffolding had to be constructed. This was completed using many methods and all of the work was completed within the project time schedule. These were complex in practice and in logistics.

During this time I also overlooked rigging workforce, maintained plans and spreadsheets and was put in charge of jack ups with responsibilities for valves, vessels and pipework on the total re-fitment of three other oil platforms.
