PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Nichols Foods, AimiA Foods)
In September 2005 I was promoted to the position of Production Supervisor in the Co-Packing operation of the business, some of my initial targets are to implement extensive changes in packing areas concentrating on 5 S, Kaizen, & general improvements to raise the standard to "World Class".
PRODUCTION PLANNER (Nichols Foods)
After being promoted from Assistant Production Planner responsibilities increased and became spread over greater area mainly focussing on supply chain management. From placing of the order I am responsible for Planning Production, Provisioning of Materials, ordering materials, managing stock levels (the use of Kanban is considerable) and providing Production Management with specific capacity data to ensure staffing levels are utilised fully.
ASSISTANT PRODUCTION PLANNER (Nichols Foods Ltd)
The role of Assistant Production Planner was a promotion from Team Leader and responsibilities included supporting the Production Planner with daily tasks such as raising Works Orders, Filing, collection of Data and in input of that data into performance graphs etc.
TEAM LEADER (Nichols Foods Ltd)
This was a promotion from Machine Operator/Setter; duties included monitoring the performance of six production lines' and to provide solutions to poor performance along with detailed reports to management outlining problem areas, responsible for 7 Packing staff and 3 Machine Operator/Setters.
MACHINE OPERATOR/SETTER (Nichols Foods Ltd)
Started my career with Nichols Foods in 1994 were I was tasked with bringing performance levels of a brand new machine up to acceptable performance levels, to achieve this we recruited Kaizen experts along with World Class Manufacturing knowledge which has played a major part in the development of myself, colleagues and the company itself. Responsibilities include changeovers, monitoring preventative Maintenance schedules, keeping all documentation in order i.e. Overall Equipment Effectiveness charts etc.
MACHINE OPERATOR/SETTER (De-Roma Ice Cream Ltd)
This position was a promotion from Machine Minder and required a more in depth understanding of the whole mechanics behind how specifically this machine worked. Responsibilities included planned changeovers, Machine performance monitoring, on line repairs and keeping the Preventative Maintenance Schedules up to date.
MACHINE MINDER (De-Roma Ice Cream Ltd)
I started work for De-Roma Ice Cream in 1990 as a machine minder, In this position I was responsible for the minding of 2 high velocity packaging machines, also required was basic knowledge of the machines to be able to carry out the set tasks.
BED MAKER (Spargo Beds Ltd)
After being made redundant from Park Pallets in 1990 I joined Spargo Beds in an Impulsive move avoiding being unemployed, my daily schedule was working on a Production Line constructing each individual part of the bed that would eventually lead to the finished article. I continually looked for other opportunities regarding work elsewhere for the short space of time I was there (6 months).
TRAINEE ENGINEER (Park Pallets Ltd)
Carrying out tasks set by the Production Supervisor/Manager varying from assisting Engineers to perform complex maintenance programmes to assisting production staff in their daily schedules.
I gained experience in Welding, Fabricating, Cutting and various other engineering background areas.
