1. Work Experience

Duration: 2001 -

Position: Senior Consultant

Company: Independant

Since leaving mi-services, I have offered my expertise and services on a contract basis to clients and associate companies who required my skills to help them analyse business situations, and to deliver improvements to processes through improved procedures and / or solutions.

Projects Include:-

· Feasibility consultation regarding upgrade to a validated Asset Management system for Allergy Therapeutics: Analysis of business requirements against Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) and enhanced functionality of revised systems, and recommendations for progression.

· Order Management module implementation project for Honeywell UK Sales operations SAP R/3 solution, focussing on Data Migration: Analysis of business requirements for the new system, against legacy system (Oracle EBS) functionality and data, and devising methodology for migration and adaptation of data so as to meet requirements, including testing to ensure desired results.

· Upgrade of a validated and business critical Asset Management system at AstraZeneca, including system, data, and user acceptance testing: Analysis of user requirements and business constraints against current system functionality, recommendations on route forward. Engagements with project management to identify project risks and issues, and to ensure mitigation strategies were effective and followed as incidents arose. Ensuring project methodology and quality standards were adhered to, and managing change requests through proper procedure.

· Consultancy relating to Analysis of viability of enhancements to the resultant solution, to further exploit its functionality within the business, increasing return on investment, without jeopardising the strategic migration to SAP R/3 PM.

· Alignment of key Asset / Work Management solutions at AstraZeneca, realising advantages of merged infrastructure and resources. Including testing of migrated data / processes: Analysis of impact expected through merging of multiple business processes supported in numerous solutions, into a single SAP R/3 based solution, including definition of perceived benefits to efficiency and quality, and devising metrics to be employed to gauge success of the project.

· Project management of significant enhancements / upgrades to validated solutions at AstraZeneca. Including testing of final solution at multiple levels. In all cases analysing business issues driving requirements, in many instances challenging cases where improvement could be realised through process revision or training, else specifying functional requirements to be delivered while maintaining alignment with corporate ERP (SAP R/3) strategy, and managing the projects, identifying and mitigating risks and issues encountered in development, and ensuring that quality standards were adhered to throughout.

· Knowledge transfer to internal AstraZeneca support staff, facilitating take on of support for enhanced systems by those staff, reducing requirements for specialist resources for daily operations. Development of system configuration statements, and ensuring functional and technical design specifications were available for support staff reference.

Position: Senior Consultant - ERP

Company: mi-services group Ltd.,

Following a promotion within mi-sevices group. I occupied a position within the SAP branch of their ERP division, specialising in Asset Management. Consulting with clients at executive and operational levels on their goals for business advantage through systems intelligence, dedicated toward the realisation of those goals. Covering business process analysis / optimisation, change management, specification of requirements, product selection, implementation, project management, configuration, data migration, enhancements and validation, through to training and support.

Projects Include:-

· Strategic analysis of Asset Management Systems at AstraZeneca. Evaluating business advantages of alignment with global SAP R/3 ERP solutions, including presentation of findings & recommendations for migration of processes to the SAP PM platform.

· Re-implementation of integration systems from Maximo to SAP R/3 at AstraZeneca, re-evaluating effectiveness of bespoke enhancements, advising on, and managing corrective actions.

· Remediation analysis, and planning for AstraZeneca's SAP R/3 ERP systems in line with ER/ES business and regulatory requirements.

· Implementation and testing of a validated Asset Management system, integrated to Oracle Financials & OPM for Allergy Therapeutics.

· Upgrade / migration and testing of Asset Management Systems & re-validation for Medeva Pharma, (Celltech Medeva) including project management of sub-contractors.

· Consultancy in the area of Purchasing, and Inventory Control for Lucas Varity (TRW Inc) ERP project. Analysing requirements, and specifying enhancements to systems. Project managing the development & testing of bespoke work by sub-contractors, to ensure consistent quality.

· Implementation of Asset Management system at Lucas Varity (TRW Inc), including requirement analysis and management of bespoke development.

· Numerous consultancy exercises at client request, ranging from strategic levels, down to technical, to facilitate system enhancement / exploitation following on from implementation projects, often against validated systems.

· Validation of systems for FDA / MCA regulatory compliance, for Allergy Therapeutics, AstraZeneca, Medeva Pharma, NAPP Laboratories, and Scherer DDS. Including system and user acceptance testing.

Duration: 1995 - 1998

Position: Systems Engineer

Company: mi-services group Ltd.,

Following a successful period with HPL, I took a position with mi-services group, a consultancy and technical services provider, employing around 750 staff world-wide, serving the industrial and academic community with technical expertise and resources.

At MiS I have worked on a number of large implementation projects, providing implementation expertise, product development and support, for a number of integrated Computerised systems, being used by a number of large multi-national clients.

Projects include:-

· Implementation, testing and support of common Asset Management systems and business processes across Europe for Quaker / Spillers (Nestle) foods. Including bespoke enhancements.

· Implementation, testing and support of an ERP solution, integrating to Asset Management at two UK sites for Courtaulds Chemicals.(Acordis)

· Implementation & validation of common Asset Management systems and business processes across two UK sites for Medeva Pharma. (Celltech Medeva). Including testing.

· Business analysis / modelling, and validation of Asset Management Systems at Scherer DDS.

· Implementation of Maintenance Repairs & Operations Purchasing, and inventory control systems at OMYA UK.

· Impact analysis on Asset Management Systems implemented at Spillers (Nestle) foods allowing for organisational restructuring, incorporating management of remedial projects.

Duration: 1991 - 1995

Position: Systems Technician

Company: Hydro Polymers Ltd.,

Upon leaving Magnet, I was given the opportunity to work for Hydro Polymers Limited, Newton Aycliffe; one of the market leaders in the production of high quality vinyl resins and compounds to a global network of customers. HPL employ around 500 people, and are a division of the Norsk Hydro, International group of companies.

At HPL, I had the opportunity to work in their Engineering Systems Group, as a member of a small team responsible for the implementation, and support of a site wide computerised, integrated Asset Management system, which was later incorporated into the SAP R/3 ERP system under an enhancement project.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Company: Magnet Kitchens Darlington.

Following my apprenticeship, which was served at Magnet Kitchens Darlington, I worked for a short while as a maintenance technician. Magnet is one of the most modern kitchen and bedroom furniture manufacturers in Europe.
