PROFILE:
A highly motivated, ambitious individual with over 9 years experience in various aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain Management and Contract Management of Multi-Million Pound National and International Contracts within the Shipbuilding/Manufacturing and Engineering sector.
Working directly with Procurement Manager, as Deputy Procurement Manager and working closely with Senior Management and Managing Director on a daily basis to ensure the on Time Procurement and Delivery of Equipment and Documentation to meet our Strict Programme Requirements.
I am also heavily involved in raising the profile of Procurement within the organisation and applying Modern Procurement to a Company with a Traditional Background.

August 2004 - Present VWS WESTGARTH Limited (Formerly Part of Weir Group).
FPSO Golfinho 2, FPSO Capixaba & Greater Plutonio.
Position Held: Principal Buyer / Deputy to the Procurement Manager.
Procurement Lead for the FPSO Golfinho II Project - Sulphate Removal Package for an FPSO Vessel to Saipem, to be located offshore Brazil, One year EPC Contract with Procurement Spend $12M
Procurement Lead for the FPSO Capixaba Project - Sulphate Removal Package for an FPSO Vessel to the IHC Gusto and SBM partnership, to be located offshore Brazil. One year EPC contract with Procurement spend of $7M
Procurement Lead for the Greater Plutonio Project - Sulphate Removal Package for an FPSO Vessel to BP, to be located offshore Angola. One year EPC contract with Procurement spend of £12M and;
In my role as Principal Buyer I am responsible for the Preparation of Tenders through to Purchase Order Placement and the on time Delivery of all equipment/Packages for each of the above projects.
This includes Supplier screening and Supplier Management, preparing and issuing enquiries, quotation analysis, Negotiation, bid summary, Vendor and Client meetings - bid clarification and chairing kick-off meetings.
I am also responsible for attending Senior Management Meetings & overseeing the day to day running of the Procurement Department in the Procurement Managers absence.

Type 45 Destroyer Contract
Position Held: Senior Buyer/Subcontract Manager Scotstoun/Govan Site - High Value Multi Million Pound Spend.
In my role as Senior Buyer/Sub-Contract Manager my responsibilities included the on time Procurement and Contract Management of various Multi Million Pound Equipment packages, for 6 Royal Navy, Type 45 Destroyers. My duties included Creation of Invitation to Tender, Contractual Documentation & Commercial Negotiation of the Contract, Setting milestones and project planning through to delivery. Whilst following the Office of Fair Trading Procedure and ensuring fair award of contract at all times.
December 2002 - May 2004 BAE SYSTEMS MARINE Limited, Glasgow.
Type 45 Destroyer Contract
Position Held: Senior Buyer, Auxiliary Section - High Value Multi Million Pound Spend.
My role as Senior Buyer at BAE SYSTEMS MARINE Limited was split into two parts. Firstly reporting to the Auxiliary Team Leader my responsibilities include:
➢ Sub-Contract Management duties.
➢ Achieve on-time delivery of equipment's, documentation & services, as agreed in the Contract & within budget requirements.
➢ Achieve agreed performance targets.
➢ Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
➢ Work closely and communicate effectively with internal functions.
➢ Chair monthly progress report meetings, with suppliers and internal functions for each of the contracts I am responsible for.
➢ Lead buyer at Scotstoun site for setting up and implementing the e-Auction initiative within procurement. I am also responsible for training all procurement personnel and suppliers on using the e-Auction tool.
➢ Form part of the Type 45 Programme Director's Supply Chain Team and effectively contribute to the overall programme success.
➢ Evaluate and prepare case for claims.
Secondly, as part of the Supply Chain Marine Integrated Business System Team (MIBS), my responsibilities include:
➢ Co-ordinating the order programme for the Type 45 Pilot Build, for Scotstoun, Govan and Barrow sites, and reporting progress to the Type 45 Supply Chain Director & Programme and Build Manager on a daily basis.
➢ Monitoring on time delivery for Scotstoun, Govan and Barrow Sites, and reporting progress to the Type 45 Supply Chain Director on a daily basis.
➢ Co-ordinating and chairing weekly meetings with team leaders from each of the 3 Marine Sites.
➢ Working closely with internal functions to ensure data and information on the new business system is cleansed and sufficient for ordering purposes.
➢ Attending weekly meetings chaired by the Programme Manager as supply chain representative.
➢ Work closely with the MIBS team to implement the Business System on Type 45 and to ensure that supply chain's requirements are taken into consideration prior to implementation.

Position Held: Buyer.
In my role as Buyer at BAE SYSTEMS MARINE Limited I was involved in various roles within the Procurement Department.
