Apr 02-Aug 06: Elec-Track Installations-(ETI)

Reason for Leaving: Imminent Redundancy, I will be moving over to ETI's own agency.

I am currently a COSS and I hold an Overhead Line Permit, Conductor Rail Permit and Individual Working Alone. I supervise other members of staff where I have to brief them on the Risk Assessments and any Health and Safety issues in accordance with the Method Statement.

I am also a Machine Controller Operator where I use Road Rail Vehicles such as a Unimog, SRS and a Mewp, (Cherry Picker).

I currently hold a First Aid Certificate and Basic Fire Awareness and Safety Critical Staff ticket. I have held a Hand Signalman and an Authorised Person ticket however these have now expired due to secondment to the Construction side of ETI on Overhead Line Equipment. I also have experience of a Linesman at L.E.1 stage.

Apr 05-Feb 06: Secondment to C.T.R.L

I was seconded to Swanscome, Dartford for 9 months to try and starve of redundancy. During this time I learned to be a Shunter and gained a Pilot ticket where I worked on a variety of locomotives such as: Tampers, Regulators, Ballast Trains and Shunters etc.

Oct 01-Mar 02: ABB Limted

Reason for leaving: ABB Ltd was taken over by Balfour Beatty who was then taken over by ETI.

As an Appointed Person, the aspects of my job were Surveys, Heights and Staggers and included all COSS duties.

Oct 99-Oct 01: Elec-Track Installations - (ETI)

Reason for leaving: I wanted to broaden my knowledge, still working with Rail.

I joined ETI as an Earthing Assistant helping the Appointed Person earth out the Overhead Line Equipment where I gained tickets for a Hand Signalman and a Lookout.

I then took my skills forward working with Balfour Beatty Joint Venture on the West Coast Main Line between Carnforth and Carlisle where I then gained a Machine Controller Operator's ticket, whilst still employed by ETI.

June 99-Oct 99: Tokenmarsh

Reason for leaving: Temporary position.

I started with Tokenmarsh working on station refurbishments where I passed my PTS and then gained tickets for a Look Out.

Within this time I also worked for other agencies where I did foundation digging and Minor P.Way and several other duties.

  • Mechanical Engineer: I require someone to work for 2 days on Network Rails - Birmingham Gateway Project. (25th December-26th December) Must be COSS and OHL. You will be responsible for 15 scaffolders erecting decks over platfroms 4-12 in Birmingham New Street Station. You will need to liase with the client, Network Rail and ensure works are proceeding as required.
  • Overhead Linesman: We are a new rail organisation operating nationally, and we have a requirement for 6 no overhead linesmen.
