I am currently working as part of a team dealing with the day to day running of an Active Directory Windows 2003, 2000 user, 4 site infrastructure. My role includes maintaining AD, security policies, Windows XP clients and an SMS 2003 environment, building and delivering new applications when needed and monitoring of hardware and software. I have recently designed and implemented a laptop security accredited XP workstation build with full data and communications encryption, ready for deployment. My other duties include :

• Manage software deployment strategies across a multi site domain
• Using SMS, maintaining all workstations and servers to the latest security patches and hotfixes
• Create and test MSI wrapped packages using WinInstall and Orca ready for Active Directory and SMS 2003 rollout
• Utilise VMWare Workstation for testing patches and new applications
• Write and apply GPO’s for all servers, computers and users
• Assist in supporting an Exchange 2003 environment
• Maintain user login scripts using KIX32
• Create build and end user documentation

I worked as part of a support team working for Lloyds TSB and Cheltenham and Gloucester PLC. This involved the monitoring of company wide applications and supporting 6500 servers across the country. I was also involved in the migration of Windows NT4 to 2003, testing applications in the new environment and documenting changes. I also investigated and implemented new security enhancements to the Active Directory Schema. All work followed a project based approach, reporting to management on a regular basis. My other duties included :

• Supporting the NT4 infrastructure of 200 Cheltenham & Gloucester branches
• Maintaining a Windows 2003/Active Directory environment covering Lloyds TSB UK wide
• Bare metal installations of Windows 2003 server ready for deployment via Altiris
• Building and deploying Windows XP desktops
• Installing and maintaining server hardware including HP blade technology
• Maintaining support documentation
• Supporting a multi site Citrix and SoftGrid environment

Part of a team dealing with the implementation of an Active Directory and Windows 2003 schema across a 4 site infrastructure. I helped design an Active Directory v2 structure and implement it. My other duties included :

• Creating and testing MSI wrapped packages using WinInstall and Orca ready for Active Directory rollout
• Migrating user accounts using Quest Migrator 6.2
• Writing and maintaining login scripts using KIX32
• Maintaining a SQL 2000 server
• Planning a migration path, negotiating with management and customers at all levels
• Remotely deploying the software build using Symantec Ghost 8.2
• Migrating workstations from Windows NT4 to Windows XP SP2
• Migrating all servers from Windows NT4 and Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003
• Writing and applying GPO’s for all computers and users
• Utilising Reflex Disknet 4.3 to provide adequate security
• Deputising for the team manager when needed

Part of a 9 member team supporting an 1800 user LAN within a Windows NT4, Office 97 environment. During my time I held various supervisory roles monitoring problem solving and methodologies. My main duties were :

• Solving problems logged by the helpdesk using Vantive, by visiting or remote control methods
• Writing and maintaining login scripts using KIX2000 and batch files
• Designing and implementing security clampdown procedures
• Creation of user accounts including e-mail using Exchange 5.5
• Monitoring and auditing network PC’s using CA AimIT 4.01
• Packaging and remotely delivering software using CA ShipIT 4.0
• Designing and maintaining software builds to suit customers needs
• Backing up and restoring files with Veritas Netbackup
• Hardware fault finding, diagnostics and resolution of desktop and server hardware
