Employed by the BBC to continue the Orion project started while under contract with Siemens.
▪ Worked closely with the Program Director and Project Manager to design and oversee a technical solution aligned with the BBC technology strategy and that met with the Orion project business needs and requirements.

▪ Seconded to the BBC, to firstly evaluate the server infrastructure, and then produce a high level infrastructure design for a complex 3-Tier commissioning and scheduling system, conforming to BBC’s standards and ITIL procedures.
▪ Liaised with the customer, project inter-working teams and 3rd parties to establish key elements and requirements.
▪ Designed and implemented an automated server deployment solution using Altiris Deployment Suite using PXE, wake on LAN technologies, hardened server builds on IBM hardware.
▪ Designed and implemented IBM Director Solution and integrated with existing MOM 2005 toolset. This was used to manage and deliver firmware, hotfixes and software to IBM BladeCenter, xSeries, pSeries, DS4800 SAN, Nortel and Brocade hardware.

▪ As part of the Bid Team, my role was to design and implement a model office as a proof of concept, as set out by the Home Office bid requirements.

We have been using the product 18 months and now want to fully exploit it. We require integration with our website, marketing and sales activities. We see this as an initial project and then we are looking for ongoing support on an ad hoc basis.
  • We would like the following topics covered in IBM Director , in order of priority: 1. Installing and setting up Virtualization Manager - I've already installed this but am having difficulties accessing it. 2. Monitoring AIX LPARS, CPU, Memory, etc... on power based Blade servers using VIO and IVM 3. Setting up monitors to monitor stopped services 4. Monitoring NFS mounts 5. Monitoring and Alerting when certain events are found in the event viewer 6.
  • Director 6.1 Consulting & Installation - with assistance to fix the installation issues but also recommendations around best practices and deployment, also considerations towards upgrading agents from earlier versions of director. The location is likely to be Tower Hill, London, and the duration is likely to be 1 day initially, but based on the first day could lead to a longer engagement around installation & deployment.
  • IBM Tape Libraries Implementation: 10 days to configure two IBM TS3500 Tape libraries and install EKM Encryption across two sites and get the two libraries communicating. The Libraries will be attached to Mainframe and Open Systems, AIX and Windows. The Encryption software will run on AIX. Work to take place in Basingstoke and London Paddington.
  • We require an engineer to upgrade the memory on a Sun server V890. The engineer would need to represent themself as the partner. The customer is based in Cannary Wharf.
