Piping design from conceptual studies, front-end design, through to final completion of the projects, in house

One project I worked in capacity of Deconstruction Engineer, when a complete refinery was taken down and transported by river to Rotterdam for onward passage to India for reconstruction.

On projects in the Gulf, I was required to estimate and produce full task sheets, together with planning bar charts and histograms for mechanical, piping, structural, architectural and HVAC. Both Gulf projects were completed on budget and on time.

Carried out and produced site studies for basic pipe routing to/from new equipment, locate and verify tie-in points. Full check out of all proposed pipe changes to new P&I's. Work passed over to be put on computer operators to upgrade.

Latex cooling water system up-grade

Surveys were carried out and studies were produced for a three (3) phase installation. Tie-in points determined, tie-in ISO's, fabrication ISO's together with overall layouts were produced. The three (3) phase installation was a requirement to give minimum shutdown of the latex plant itself. Liased with client and fabricator on all aspects of the project to present over all package

Preparation of all estimates, including consumables, together with all above discipline task sheets for offshore phase. Preparing test procedures & offshore planning charts together with manpower histograms.

Offshore:Superintendent and Principal Construction Engineer; responsible for the jobs of 238 persons, all disciplines and for all Contractual and Client Liaison on the installation of new accommodation platform and the re-vamp to existing complex. The work covered hook-up, pre & final commissioning, final acceptance testing and the hand over of the platform. (The completion of the platform was a success, being installed to time and to budget)

Project: October Shutdown 'Fateh Field'

Onshore:Responsibilities as per 'UMM Shaif', with exception of the preparation of planning charts. Project with 3 months pre-engineering, prior to going offshore for a 7 day shut down.

Offshore:Overall Engineer in charge of shut down, over 4 superintendents, 608 persons and three lifting barges. Work included reinforcement of the platform in the areas of work prior to installation of new 450 ton H.P. separator, removal of existing and replacement of new 150 ton L.P. separator together with all relevant piping. (The project was completed successfully and on time and to budget).
