I created stored procedures, improved existing, and rewrote a few key views to get better performance... more valuable reports to design

• A busy web-based front-end application, in CRM / Sales & Marketing, was being used to log projects, opportunities & engagements chased. Bespoke reports were needed, to examine activity, past and future revenue Opportunity & Engagement more closely and adding many factors. Weekly Excel updates needing revitalising and automating. I provided Crystal Reports training

• Tasked to transform a paper-based method of issuing work instructions for facilities management / social housing maintenance operatives (gather: time-to-site, time-to-complete, acceptance-by-customer details, etc) to PDA devices. Eight T-SQL stored procedures in a job, automating individual emails to operatives’ to confirm works, signatures, each run triggering any pending number of works. In HTML & PDF format with variables. Rigorous testing. The only failure to complete by end date was Axis not having all operatives’ email addresses, which I offered to research
• As lone SQL Server DBA, I was also responsible for ensuring performance, availability and reliability, on a 24Gb production server
• New financial Crystal Reports generated against a Sage-designed construction schema, many updates to existing reports, with streamlining ideas to improve next year’s changes for the new financial year for new Axis work contracts

• Straighforward maintenance and creation of web-based front end for initiatives, tactics, approaches and funds, as entities to organise mailings to the public of various levels of donor, and various allocation of collected finances, during tick-over and emergency periods. Unfortunately, there was not an opening on offer to get behind the scenes and deal with the back end of the system at the time, as was my hope. Good to see a different perspective on data management...

Linked server connection established between previous Access front-end financial dept and SQL Server 2005 HR database. Contacts database cleanup project – eliminating duplications; user requests fulfilled in Reporting Services. Software licencing database design and international phonelist in MS Access, distributed with Citrix

• 26 Crystal Reports developed against a SQL Server database, for call centre statistics. Existing reports modified / streamlined for new requirements. I encountered heavy use of parameters here, where the function of a report could completely change depending on input or data, sub-reports, drill-downs and cross-tabs. Help The Aged project
