CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé

• Took the initiative to upgraded all the very old PC’s and servers to the latest models with SLA supported contracts in place, therefore increasing productivity of the user due to less downtime of ageing equipment.
• Migrating servers, devices, applications, users and e-mails from NT to Active Directory, while directing and training staff in preparation for the migration. Each IT project was meticulously project planned through the completed life cycle
• Confidence to project manage the full life cycle of various intricate projects. I identified that a saving could be made on printing; I analysed the data, sourced the supplier and setup SLA’s. I organised the installation of MFP’s and printers while arranging the training of the personnel.
• Managing a large IT budget as the organisation was rapidly growing and needed a competitive and complimentary IT infrastructure to facilitate this growth.
• Opened, moved and upgraded branches with a complete new IT infrastructure making sure that support could be remotely given through terminal services, group policies and scripting. This approach proved to be the best balanced as it gave the branches rapid local IT support, without major financial overheads.
• Solaglas Windowcare has a large fleet of vehicles that operate across the United Kingdom, I was responsible for the installation and maintenance of the GPS tracking system that tracked and logged all the vehicles. Through these creative workings, Windowcare could now manage the drivers’ schedules giving accurate times as to when the drivers would arrive. Reports could also be generated from this application.
• Appointed IT Security Manager for Solaglas Windowcare within the Saint Gobain group. I consolidated and documented all the equipment and licenses making sure that ever item was audited and maintained. All anti-virus protection and encryption was my responsibility making sure that all systems were safe and secure.
• Business continuity and disaster recovery fell under my personal responsibility. Business continuity was a foreign concept to the organisation; key individuals were made responsible for developing the plan and my role was IT and disaster recovery which was tested each year making sure that the plan would work in the event of a disaster.
• Setting up of IT policies and procedures and making sure those personnel were aware of it and that it was enforced.
• Training of personnel in the use of various applications and equipment. I trained users and developed manuals in the use of laptop connectivity and synchronization. This was helpful as it brought down the support calls to the IT department.
• Responsible for supporting and maintaining the complete network and IT infrastructure of all the branches as well as managing IT staff and developers.
• Installed Help Desk application to track support calls and manage problematic areas, so that those problematic areas could be dealt with expeditiously.
