CV (Curriculum Vitae) / Résumé
I am a vastly experienced, numerate and innovative HR reward specialist, who has operated in many different arenas. I have developed advanced influencing, consultancy, analytical and project management skills, honed in the design and delivery of complex reward programmes in large multi-site organisations.
My work so far as a Consultant has been wide ranging, giving me cross sector exposure. In this capacity I have undertaken a complex pay research project, designed a total reward framework, facilitated workshops and focus groups on key reward issues, produced new performance management and pay review methodologies, designed a recognition and incentive scheme, defined a systems based approach to employee benefits and developed a flexible benefits scheme. The list is growing all the time and it clearly demonstrates my versatility to operate in many different environments.
I am currently introducing total reward to the Department of Transport and its 7 Executive Agencies. This is the first project of its kind in a Government Department, which is intended to fulfil several key reward principles set out by the Cabinet Office for 20,000 employees. It should pave the way for a completely new reward strategy within the Civil Service.
Also, I have been accepted as a Framework Consultant for the Improvement & Development Agency (IDeA), and accredited as a supplier to the public sector, following successful projects for leading local authorities and Housing Groups. In addition, I have designed and facilitated a total reward training workshop in Kuala Lumpur for delegates from Fortunate 500 companies based in Asia Pacific.
Prior to setting up my company in 2006, I was responsible for employee benefits at Nationwide Building Society. I was highly successful in this role where my work resulted in Nationwide winning several industry awards for employee benefits innovations. This culminated in best flexible benefits and technology awards in 2006 for a groundbreaking integrated rewards platform.
I was also short-listed by Employee Benefits Magazine in 2005 for an "Outstanding Contribution to Employee Benefits" award, in recognition of my highly regarded and influential work in this field.
Before joining Nationwide, I was a senior HR professional in the Royal Air Force. My work spanned the whole spectrum of Human Resources, ranging from the design and delivery of leadership training for non-commissioned officers through to designing pay and benefit structures for the Royal Air Force.
I also spent 3 years as a School Bursar where I was instrumental in the school achieving Investors in People and Language College specialist status respectively. I sat on the Wiltshire School Organisation Committee responsible for representing the financial management interests of schools. During this time, I undertook an MBA course in Business Education Management at the University of Lincoln and Humberside.
I am a Chartered Member of the CIPD (currently upgrading to Fellow) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries. I have delivered keynote presentations on reward issues, and regularly network at the CIPD Reward Forum and Special Interest Group meetings, employee benefits and motivation events. In addition, I occasionally write reward articles for various industry journals and guides and facilitate workshops at key events.
