I spent six moths of travelling on an 11,000 motorcycle ride from Los Angeles to New York via Alaska. I have been undertaking some consultancy work advising an internet start up on the technology options for their web site. I have also been doing volunteer work developing for two charities, Notting Hill Housing Trust and Resonance FM. The work includes developing their website, developing applications in Python and PHP/MySql and shell scripting (Bash). More recently I have been scoping and preparing a new financial website using Spring and Hibernate. I am currently undertaking MCTS .NET Framework

Worked as part of the Imagine Trading System development team. Wrote a new Listed Option server using Reuters RFA API library. Wrote a J2EE Tomcat server to manage and control the java based Listed Option server. Added several reports, made available via Tomcat web server. Worked closely with the front office to implement Variance Swaps functionality into Imagine trading system and link them into traders worksheets. Worked with the rest of the Imagine Team to migrate Imagine Trading System from version 5 to 6.

Rewrote Dolfin system, working directly with equities traders. Wrote Exchange traded funds pricing system in Applix again, in conjunction with traders. Provided numerous other tactical systems, working with vendors Bloomberg and Reuters as part of the Quoting and Contributions team.
Wrote Java server to supply static data for central price database via Java OO based API to for Quote Engine, a real-time calculation engine. Managed and developed Price Contribution Management Layer (PCML) J2EE project, took this from concept to full implementation. The work included writing an add-in for Excel, writing java servers, Websphere development, javscript, struts, XML, Maven and JUnit. Designed and implemented first phase of new Hedge Fund J2EE project, using the same technology as PCML to enable operations staff, sales staff and traders to manage information as well as confirm Hedge Fund trades via a secure web log-in. More recently joined the trading floor desk development team to provide an add-in library in C# .NET for trader pricing formulas and price information for Excel.

The feeds were from a variety of sources; CSFB’s own MDS system, Bloomberg, Reuters, Phoenix, FAME and Datastream.
